I no longer use Harbor Freight Super Heavy Duty Degreaser in my ultrasonic cleaner. Harbor Freight changed the recipe. The bottle previously stated “NON-CORROSIVE”. Now it says “CORROSIVE”, “do not user on Aluminum”. It now damages most carburetors. Recently I have been using Simple Green PRO HD with good results.

Also same idea about tapping with a hammer but with a torx bit just slightly bigger then the center diameter. Also works well.
Use a fairly sharp screw driver and hit it a few times with a hammer to deepen the grooves and shock the treads. Then follow up with the normal one with a few more hits. Works like a Cham for the stuck jets I’ve struggled with. Also what about your manual impact used earlier? It would likely do the trick too.
Thanks for this video, I have a EU 1000i, I verified the carb works well, but it doesn't start. The spark plug gets wet. I don't know if that's a symptom related to it or me pulling the cord too much, where would you start to troubleshoot?
It might have started before removing the carb. I have this same early version of generator and it runs great but it is extremely cold blooded if it hasn't run for about a month. Once you get it running it starts easily until it sits for an extended period again.
Where did you get the pliers that have the half loop on the end for taking off the fuel lines? I need a pair of those.
Great job on the repair! Too bad the Main jet was stuck and you could not get the emulsion tube out, you know it had to have gunk in there from the way the fuel looked. But in the end all is well! Cheers!
Glad you brought it back to life. I have a newer version Honda generator and love the thing. I always run mine dry when I shut it down for storage to hopefully mitigate some of the fuel issues. As others have said, it's better to properly repair the generator than have it running poorly, or having it be tossed in a landfill. Keep up the great work!

I seriously doubt the government is going to come after you for removing that cap to service the generator, you're not modifying the emissions controls, you're repairing it. I would have absolutely no qualms about doing so, I don't want to create unnecessary pollution but I also loathe nanny state laws that try to micromanage my life. You want it to run correctly, you're not trying to modify it for more performance.
Great video James, Honda Eu2000i is exceptionally good and reliable, simply the best. My friend owns one from way back early 2000s along with 3 other brands with bigger power rating, living OFF GRID, sometimes he gets carried away he uses that little Honda to power his well Pump with pressure system however it should exceed the Honda power rating, anyway it works !!!. He did buy a spare 2000 watts, other brand, at big-box store but failed to run the well pump, so he complained and the store agreed to refund him, so he went to an other big-box store and bought a different brand , it also failed to run the well pump. I wonder Q: How Much Honda EU200i can take ?, it is probably more then what the specs says, the engine is 98.5cc vs 80cc for the others.

I have that exact same generator and it has been a fantastic machine. It's so quiet and fuel efficient, with a little load management I can power my whole house and leave it running all night without disturbing the neighbors. I've had it for 10 years and it has never given me a bit of trouble.
I've had that carb off at lease six times and did everything James did except removing the adjustment screw in fear of braking it off. The next time I take it apart, and there will be a next time, that limiter cap is coming off and not going back on. To hell with the law. It's just the loonie tunes trying to save the world and that adjustment screw adjustment isn't going to make any difference to the air you inhale. so screw them all. I also can't buy a new generator from Amazon because of the California clean air laws about importing gas engine devices. Just more BS Yes, I'm a little bit pissed about all this.

A little piece of my soul dies every time someone forgets to drain a carb (and fuel tank) for storage.
Mattresses also have a tag that says you're not legally allowed to remove it. I've never heard of anyone getting in trouble for it

Remove an unlimited what is the correct protocol. You said everything back to factory specs. And as you say you have a right to repair
