Well its that time our 2016 Chevy Camaro SS with the 6.2L V8 was ready for a thermostat replacement after 11 years and almost 50k miles! Watch as we replace with a factory GM thermostat which costs about 100 bucks at your local Chevy or GM dealer! Tools needed 10 mm shock and a pair of pliers!
When your done with the replacement make sure your car resets or you remove the error code from the ECU so that the fan resets, now if you don’t after a little while the car will reset it self over a few starts! Any questions or concerns please comment and let us know how it went for you!

Dealer charges $700 for that basic thermostat replacement? That's totally crazy being the part is $100 I have changed thermostats and it doe's not take long what is service departments hourly rate? Completely ridiculous and not right!
Good video. That happened to my 2016 V6 1LT camaro. Good to see its easy to replace on the V8. On the V6 you need to remove the intake manifold, its hidden well. If you disconnect the battery it gets out of that panic mode and buys you some time to replace the thermostat. I had them do the temp sending unit too just in case with the thermostat since its not an easy change.
