If your Chevy or GMC radio is changing stations by itself, adjusting volume randomly, freezing, hanging up calls, or experiencing ghost touch issues, this step-by-step repair video will show you how to fix it. In this tutorial, I replace the entire touchscreen and digitizer assembly on a 2017 Chevy Silverado infotainment system, the same 8-inch screen used in many Chevrolet and GMC trucks and SUVs including the Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, and more. I cover complete dash disassembly, removing the factory screen, disconnecting ribbon cables, installing the new LCD touchscreen assembly, and testing the repair before reassembly. This method is faster and easier than replacing only the digitizer because the new screen comes preassembled from the factory. I also compare this repair to my original lower-cost digitizer-only replacement video for those wanting a cheaper option. Links to the replacement screen, tools, and original repair video are included below. Whether your GM infotainment system has phantom touch problems, an unresponsive touchscreen, cracked display, or random radio controls, this DIY repair can save you hundreds compared to dealer replacement costs.

Hi Tony, you have (2) "8 inch screens with digitizer listed. Which one did you use in this video. I noticed the top one is not available. The second one ($99 on amazon was listed on your original video and saw it was rated very high and sold a lot of them but some reviews said it wasn't as clear looking from a side angle. I've got 150k miles on my 2018 Sierra and need to make the screen/digitizer swap. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I watched the first video of you replacing the old one and glueing it on. (Thank you for making that one)
Did you replace this because the other repair failed?

@tdsmotorsportshomediy says:

Here is the part one video just replacing the digitizer and not the whole screen.
