Dorman 80995 and 80995
I used a wood dowel
Thanks for the video I have a 2013 Tahoe that I bought used with 96 thousand miles on it the doo handle was bad then it a lot worse now two years later will definitely try this for a fix thanks
Dorman makes a replacement armrest piece.its $150 with shipping. A much better built piece than factory. Took all of 15 minutes to swap.
What to do if all the plastic is gone?
GMC should have recalled this shit. We have the same problem. It's a joke. There has to be a safety issue with not being able to open the door correctly.
How is it holding up? Have the same issue with my tahoe
This happened to my 2013 Suburban. I am going to try what you did!
What size pipe did you use for that? Length and circumference? I am thinking of using a wooden dowell either 3/4 or 5/8 . Any insight would be great. I am flying out of state and will be fixing it for my girlfriend tomorrow so tryinf to prep for it now and cut to size because she dowsnt have tools there
You know what worked for me. Some cheap spray insulation from home depot for like $5. Once sprayed expands then hardens extremely well
Soooo what ya do when it's in a million peices lol
Thanks a lot what’s long the pipe
THANK YOU! It was so hard to find a video like this. Most of them were for fixing the actual door handle that opens the door. I have a Chevy Tahoe and the exact thing happened to me! I went on vacation and let my sister borrow the car and while I was gone something happened. However it will remain a mystery because the whole family claims it wasn't them. Ha! I didn't want to shell out over $500 to get a new insert and door replacement!
Thanks for the great tip. I really don't want to buy a new interior panel for $500, so I think I'll try your method instead. Good idea to use liquid nails too.
I was struggling fixing mine, I even took the door panel off. The wire trick I like. Thanks. I was laughing, when I was showing my wife the broken handle she said why don't you just tape it up. LOL> When I was watching the video here and I got to the part where you taped it up I stopped it and showed it to her. Hey Wife! This guy thinks like you! We both laughed and I got my door handle fixed. Thanks!
Trying this out this weekend. Thanks for the video.
My wife's 2014 Yukon XL has the same exact problem. I will give it a try to repair it. Thanks for posting this videos.
Thanks.. I have the same exact issue. I have just boight the samw adhesive and i will try to do the same and will provide my feedback later
