I have been waiting for 2 years for a upper control arm for a recall on a 2018 Chevy Malibu it is known to rust and snap. always on back order..

@ARfourbanger2000 says:

It would have been interesting to see if the original fuel pump control module and fuel pump come to life if you feed the module a 5v square wave.

@dragontechgaming6677 says:

ford could bypass the origenal softwae and write there own firmware for the drivers.
bosh do not own the hardware right they only own the rights to there firmware code.
ford could make it's own intruction sets to bypass the origenal so that they could write there own firmware so that the PCM would work under there own specification's.
so in short forn does't give a shit and want's to to bring your car in so they can say oh it's not fixaible and force the consumer to but a new car with a absalutely car trade in price.
for would refirb the car cheaply and sell it as new and the car will be back on the lot at full price.

@AM-fz3oq says:

I believe Ford’s holding out because Ford is one of them that met with the president that wants to put small shops out of business and make it mandatory to go to a dealership for repairs

@polabair911 says:

Too big to fail = license to steal!

@mytwothoughts2005 says:

These auto manufacturers are insane…

@stedydrizl says:

Great Video Series, this is what sets your channel above most other Car Channels. BUT…I have questions. I am an Electronic Engineer by schooling and a car guy by choice, also owned 9 Ford Trucks in my lifetime but I wont buy another. Q1 – Why did New Pump not work at all until Module replacement ?? Q2 – I question statement that Pump is Primed when door is opened…All the Gen6 Broncos are designed to run with doors removed, so how would that work ? Q3 – This must be an intermittent failure not affecting ALL 2.3L Broncos or else the SHTF would have started, So if intermittent and Ford feels it is Damaging Fuel Pump (Based on their advice to you), that means module must sense current to fuel pump and determine the need to "shut it off", but why then did new Fuel Pump not even prime ?? Would have been great if you would have looked at the data on new pump with old module, but I realize your in business to make money. Thanks for great info, but problems like this are why I too am looking for an early 90's 300 straight six like you had recently !

@DoWhatHeDo says:

Ford and other manufacturers absolutely hate their customers.

@vtwinaddicted5852 says:

Never buy ford

@polabair911 says:

Class action, Yes! Ford & GM are terrible.

@Lewis_3rd says:

Remedy. Trade it for a Honda or Toyota

@joecook8352 says:

Thank you for letting Bronco owners know what’s going on and for us non Bronco owners letting us know how these things are designed

@larrygratz7695 says:

Great work. You have such lucky customers.

@gregadams558 says:

Planned obsolesce. They assume you trash it and buy a new car. But you are still financing it. A 2021 Bronco under 72 month financing means are upside down for 12 more months. On top of that you probably have a good interest rate. In 2021 we bought a 2019 Charger at 2.39% (that's insane) while current rates are at 7% or higher.

Who wins? The banks selling a new loan at higher rates. The dealership moving new inventory. The manufacturer moving more inventory.

@ttiwkram says:

Ah — more engineering malpractice from the boys at Ford!
An electric fuel pump shouldn't have a "control module." It should be operated by an on/off relay.
And software for everything is great — until it isn't, and that's usually not very long.

@mikefurr5281 says:

I don't think it's a software issue because all the other things it controls operate. It seems like an output in the module is faulty, which means, as you know, the module has to be replaced, all of them.

@incognito6799 says:

Modern vehicles will be just like the video gaming consoles. Remember when you bought the earlier PlayStation? After so many years, the newer consoles hit the market. The older consoles were no longer technically supported meaning no more software updates, meaning no more online capabilities just back to in-house games. You were basically forced to buy the newer consoles and that repeated all the way to PlayStation 5. Vehicles will be the same. No longer repairable and no longer driving for 200k miles.

@garyangelstad5212 says:

14:01 thats why you dont by any new vehicle. Poor quality, way too high cost. Genera£y the poorest ownership experiance ever

@danwilliams5867 says:

Could this have been one of these over the air updates that Ford puts out? I disconnected my telemetrics module just for this reason. If they want to update I will bring it in and if right after the vehicle acts up, back to dealer it goes. I would be looking at updates Ford puts out and if the problem started close to an update that's where I would point fingers at.
If I owned that vehicle and had a loan on it I would have it towed to bank and dropped off. Here is your car

@rkvons says:

Maybe it's a hardware issue with the ECM. Perhaps the output driver burns up over time.

@WeeToddDidd says:

What if the modules you can get today still have the problem, it could just be an expensive temporary fix.

@joelpierce3940 says:

My 2022 GMC AT4 started and I made it to the end of my driveway. It would crank fast, but no start. I used my inductive timing light and I had strong spark. Did some research and replaced the Fuel pump control module. $36 at O’Riley’s. Started right up. OEM made in Mexico, replacement AC/Delco made in China. It’s easy to get to. I will buy a spare, and keep it in the truck. Maybe the engine and transmission won’t crater.
