A 2013 Ford Edge came to me with some brake problems. The power brakes are more of a manual system right now. Another shop has had a crack at it and could not figure it out so now it is my turn. I’ll show you a couple ways to diagnosis this problem and how to make the repair. The repair takes some patience but is not too difficult and can save you hundreds of dollars to do it yourself. Let’s get into it.

I lost count at how many of those ive done over the years. Its a common problem on those.
Got a 2009 Ford Escape that's doing something similar…the shop said I need an entire ABS unit ($800-$1200). But still have brakes just not assisted…wondering if it is just a brake booster leak they missed.
Noticed one of flex brake lines( at master cylinder) with crease thru it from being over-bent (stress and restriction) ,not trying to be snarky or anything, but this is something that would concern me greatly over time.
Welcome back Scott!
I deleted the power booster on my first car because the brake booster was bad and it took both feet to push the brake pedal down. It was a 67 Mercury Marquis and all I had to do was put in a brake pedal from a 65 Ford Galaxie and remove the brake booster. That was the good old days when you could swap out almost anything without creating a nightmare in computer controls.
Did you miss the NO LEFT TURN sign on the test drive?????
7:49 I see you're wearing mittens…
Very typical of a 2016 era GM truck with faulty vacuum pump.
When I saw the title "Ford Edge hard brake pedal full diagnosis and repair" I figured it was a bad booster.
Any updates about the new Garage?
We used to say "another one of Ford's better ideas" after their commercials at the time. That's a good tip to check STFT if you suspect a vacuum leak in the power brake booster, or any vacuum leak really. I don't think my old ears would have heard the leak while driving. Mom told me that listening to rock and roll music with the volume at 11 would make me go deaf, but would I listen?
Vehcor your're alive. That's great to see you.
Maybe the previous technician was hard of hearing?
Back when these things were new, the brake boosters were failing very frequently on these. They offered a warranty extension on them but thats been long expired.
