I got a 2014 dodge ram, I don't got the climate control where the driver and passenger side can individually set the temp they want, will I have a actuator behind the hvac unit?
Wow am just looking for it and I found it in alldata. I was is that the evaporator. Am stuck only one work I tested the three they work I did not test the recirculating door. I got a code for the main one which should be the fifth
The RAMs with dual zone climate HVAC have 5 blend door actuators. So you'll have to worry about that fifth one behind the box. The RAMs with single zone HVAC have only 4. There is no actuator on the back of the box.
Whomever designed this has a special place in hell… such a pain to get to.. and the actuators are made so trashy.. I always remind myself I bought the cummins and dodge is just its baggage.
Got mine in without removing the HVAC box or evacuating the AC or cooling systems . You will have to be very crafty and creative to do it . Here's a little run down . After removing the dash , remove the 3 nuts inside and 3 nuts outside holding the box . Pull the box back as far as possible and wedge something behind it to keep it off the firewall . Take a utility knife , cut the rubber backed insulation and cut up from the heater core inlet about 3-4 inches and to the right about 3 inches . The fold that flap outta the way for even better access . You'll need a small ratchet style bit driver for the top screw , easy enough . For the bottom , use a pr of vice grips to lengthen the bit driver and attack that SOB bottom screw . Once the ratchet bit driver did not turn , I did pry the screw out the last 1/8th inch or so and it just popped off . To reinstall , I could not get the lower screw back in but with just the upper , it did hold it snug and tight . To add to the strength , I did use some glue on the lower tab in hopes I never have to deal with it again 😉 . Turn flap you cut back into position and reinstall bolts in box . Once the bolts (6) were secured again , I did cut a small pc of styrofoam insulation and tucked it between the firewall and actuator so it would remain tight until the glue cured . It will never hurt being permanent either , lol .
This job is $1600 at my Cdn dealer . I paid $55 for the actuator , and didn't need anything else except patience and a good selection of curse words . It was my first time ever removing a dash and the process took me about 5 hours to complete . I bet I could be a lot quicker if I did it again knowing what I'm facing . Cheers
Hi Gene, So does this actuator control the dual zone climate? I have a 2012 and the driver side a/c is cold but blows warm on the passenger side. Same issue??
Six hours tops
Fucking hell, that is a nightmare
Godam , lol
4th gen is the fkn step-child of Mopar istg

Buy Toyota folks you'll never have this kind of garbage, gm shh
Thank you!! I knew there was another blend door according to electrical schematics but I couldn’t find it. I see now its hiding on the back side.

Thank you bro
My 2011 just started the popping sound under the dash. I hope the bad actuator is not the 5th one in back!
Great video! Why you always gotta get so lucky?!

What were your symptoms?? I have this actuator knocking, absolutely no cool air, and weak airflow.

Do you know the part number for the #5. Are they all the same?

Where’s the 4th one? I have only found 3 so far. 2 underneath the radio and one behind the glow box
had this same problem ripped apart changed number 5 worked for a month back to knocking
