I'd add 2 pillow block bearings to the assembly and mount them to a custom bracket thats welded straight to the closest structurally sound area
Hot tip: if you put the year, make, and model of the car you’re working on in the title along with “hydraulic clutch conversion”, the views will go way up.
I would try making your top brackets out of angle iron instead of flat plate. If you could get one on both sides on the top it should strengthen it up quite a bit you may have to pie cut Bend and reweld to get it right. Just my two cents
You’re on the right track…. Looks like it needs some gusseting.
