I had a "Chevy" Uplander that my mechanic refused to put on his lift because he thought it would disintegrate from the rust. I feel your pain & admire your will & ambition.

If I had to put that kind of work and money into a vehicle I sure as hell would plan on getting more than "a couple of years out of it." Best rustproofing paint money can buy, then a full set of sprayer tools for Fluid Film or Woolwax to use every year on that truck.
