Chevy Truck PCM Removal & Installation! BAD PCM Replacement?

Chevy Truck PCM Removal & Installation! BAD PCM Replacement?

Chevy truck PCM removal and installation. Chevy Avalanche truck computer replacement. Mechanic replaces bad PCM with new PCM. This is a GMT800 truck.
We need to do a VATS relearn and a crankshaft variation relearn procedure. This works on Chevy Silverado and Chevy Avalanche trucks.
Chevy truck computer programming. https://youtu.be/JfOSgJD6Brw PARTS BELOW:

You have to get the right computer. There is a drive by wire and drive by cable computer.
After 2003 the computer is different. It is missing the IAC valve chip in the computer.
You can’t just swap out the computers from 1999-2007 trucks. The new computer has
to be programmed to the VIN too.

@TurtlesMcGuffin says:

thanks for the video. helped a bunch for the pcm

@hartlife7795 says:

Do I have to get a vin programmed or can I get junk yard one?

@Bacongaming406 says:

Its the same for a 07 Cadillac Escalade?

@itsjustals says:

is the avalanche running good after replacing the pcm? ineed one for my truck, i'm a bit skeptical, if i buy it and it does not work

@USkeZB3mpyAMCV says:

For real? That's all the programming required after replacing the PCM? My 2005 chevy express 1500 5.3 liter doesn't even have security so that means the crank relearn is the only programming required to make the truck run, correct? But what about writing the VIN onto the PCM? That's required to pass OBD2 emissions, isn't it?

@USkeZB3mpyAMCV says:

6:14 I am surprised GM thinks it's okay to allow the engine to stall if it is being driven by a car thief.

@USkeZB3mpyAMCV says:

2:36 That other one is labeled Duralast — not AC Delco. Are you implying that the Duralast one was made by AC Delco?

@zaydenbergstrom8504 says:

I just rebuilt and installed a bigger cam In a 5.3 I swapped into a k1500. Had it running fine on the stand then I put the engine in the truck and now only 4 cylinders fire with a p0336 code. Checked the pig tail and sensor and even tried a new Hitachi ckp. Checked connection at pcm and it's fine. I'm about to try a new pcm. I guess I can try to shim too but I don't think that's the problem

@Gh6stGunsNmore says:

Is it the same with 4.3 v6

@johnnyk617 says:

I have a killer crank no start issue I’m not getting ignition pulse from the pcm so I need to keep digging I might end up having to replace the pcm

@mikesmith3771 says:

I have a 2003 gmc 1500 with the 5.3 vortec all of bank 2 is misfiring and it falls on its face and almost stalls out while driving not wanting to go over 2000 rpm I have new coils plugs and wires checked my injectors they're good o2 sensors are reading and working I even replace the crank sensor and repaired several grounds so I'm at a loss but I do have a 03 avalance I use as parts so would the computer work from that into the gmc (I don't have the money to buy a brand new one)

@krispychocolate2327 says:

Quick question if I’m just removing the PCM do I have to do the crank shaft relearn thing?

@jcjackson3804 says:

If you just do the pcm do you have to do the crankshaft relearn also dont have a expensive scan tool or a emulator

@billybman1 says:

Matt just saying how much I appreciate your channel. I bought my 2003 avalanche new and Im working on much needed repairs after my son drove it four years at college. Hook’em

@RayanAlmalki-h9x says:

I want to ask you a question. I have a 2001 GMC Yukon XL SLT and the body control module It's not working as it should. And I want to replace the body control module and program it. Does the method you explained in the video work With the body control module or not ?

@orlandoautoparts2993 says:

@Pedrosshow says:
