Mama or sir, you have a misfire, I would do plugs and coils, oh you just want plugs and the one bad coil replaced, OK, 2 months later, misfire, you just want another coil replaced, a month later, misfire, really, 1 more coil, months later….and on and on…listen to your mechanics…
Considering it only takes about 10 minutes or less (usually 5) to get the intake manifold off the 3.6, and since the manifold was recently removed to do the spark plugs the plenum gasket can be reused… Sounds like you're complaining for the customer because you're probably charging the crap outta them for labor. It was more in the customers interest to only do plugs instead of all coils. The coils are fairly expensive and can last up to 200k easily.
