And when the heat exchanger failed it cost $2000. to replace.
Studebaker had a similar unit called the climatizer also under the seat but instead of a coil it looks like a small heater core
so that’s how it was done….

I had a car with a heater and defrost, and under the front bench seat was a separate radiator with a dash control to heat the seat and surrounding floor space. This was all factory equipment… Name the car make or even the car company?no motor under the floor to rot out….
I do believe that's the heater for the whole car.
Luckily, they didn't put that in WOODY'S???
If it's a 1955 Buick that's not heated seats that's where the heater was located
