What It Takes To Prepare A BMW Engine For Installation

What It Takes To Prepare A BMW Engine For Installation

In todays video we prep our replacement #N54 engine for final installation back into my 2008 #BMW #E90 #335i .
We will be installing all the plumbing to our index 12 vitesco injectors, installing the water pump, thermostat, and new aluminum coolant flange hose, installing the serpentine belt, installing the wastegate solenoids and all the vacuum lines to the turbos, picking the new engine off of the engine stand and dropping it into the subframe, cleaning the transmission, installing the torque converter and bolting it to the engine, installing both catalytic converters, repairing and installing the entire wiring harness, installing the intake manifold, and replacing our metal filled oil cooler with an OEM+ option.
Im really happy with how this video turned out and I hope you enjoy it!

YUP i got myself the rein upgraded aluminum coolant flange as well. Just peace of mind!

@Nico_335i_DCT says:

Great progress, Alec. It's a pyti you can't do some upgrades, like the plastic turbo inlets, bc of your CA regulations. It would have been so easy to install them now the block is out of the car, Thanks for sharing, cheers Nico.

@JPDenali says:

Nice video! For the Mikey Mouse flange, I highly recommend you use an OE o ring because the Rein one will fail prematurely. This happened to me on my 435i after 2 years and others had a similar issue

No larger turbo inlets or crank guard?

I would be doing a single rotated turbo for fun!!

You're making this look simple. Love that you're keeping in the little routing mistakes and basically letting people know that that's okay.
