In this video I am going to show you every single step of inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing this 2000 BMW 325i (E46).
We tear into the cooling system and replace the radiator, expansion tank, upper and lower hoses.
We fix all of the oil leaks! Resealing the oil pan, with a new oil level sensor, dipstick O ring, and engine mounts.
We rebuild the driveshaft with all new center support bearing and flex disc!
We replace the worn out control arms in the front end, install new bushings, and straighten the steering wheel.
We reseal the transmission with new output shaft seal, shift shaft seal, and shifter cup bushing!
We diagnose the dreaded P0171 and P0174 codes, too lean on bank one and two, and get that fixed as well!

In addition, I had some tips for anyone doing their oil pan gasket aswell;
* Zip-tie the belt somewhere up top, it can easily be in your way when you are working underneath.
*Consider replacing the P/S lines when you are there. The pump can get in your way with the lines on.
*If your oil level sensor is fine, do buy a new o-ring for it. You are there, and they are cheap(PN 12611744292, on a 330Ci 2001 (prefacelift))
*When the pan is off, check the oil pump nut, consider buying one with good quality safety wire, since these are known to loosen themself.
*The 2 medium lenght bolts by the transmission that go up in the oil pan can give you the illusion being threaded in whilest its actualy not in the hole. Grab a light and make sure you alligned it right, because you can get a bolt stuck in there
*If you are reusing the control arms, get a second person to help with bolting the control arm bushing back on, specialy if you left the wheels on(cough cough). They are heavy and you can easily cross thread them.

Shifter cup bushing uninstall
– from top: using needle nose pliers, ROTATE the cup bushing ccw, and just pull shifter and bushing out.
Install: First install cup bushing to ball bushing on shifter, place assembly on shifter arm opening and turn cw with needle nose pliers.
No need tap or brake bushings.
Lemforder control arms: Quality control of lemforder rubber parts are so bad. I had lemforder control arms ball joint rubber bellows cracked ( all 4 of them) in 2 years less than 4000 miles. Check m539 ( Streten) also had bad rubber parts from lemforder on his wife’s X5
