The final ride of the Ultimate Driving Machine
I agree, its a good lighthearted video and also, its good for anyone doing quick lube right now. Obviously if you're in quick lube, you don't get to practice most of what you see in these videos, but something like this, you should be able to catch during an inspection, sometimes its just taking off some extra undercovers and taking a look
This vehicle has been so neglected. People are fortunate enough to have vehicle and they just let them rot away
Good job on confusing Sherwood
Black excellence
interior screams ……. dont fix me
I love this video because I know that BMW's and German cars in general are junk. When you add that a large portion of owners are simply trying to project a false image of wealth, it only makes it more entertaining. Car was totally abused.
of course its a ladies vehicle lol. why are they so bad at decorating their interiors. id run away if this chick wanted to give me a ride
this reminds me of every minivan you see with metal on metal grinding brakes. camera guy getting a bit emotional towards the end there. Millenials!
LS Swap it…….Said no one ever!
JB Weld and an Ebay shaft and you're good to go!
The interior says it all..
If it was my car it wouldn’t have gone this far. But if I were to fix it for the cheap I would job weld putty to fill in the hole for the oil pain and then use Honda bond over it once it cures both outside and inside the pan (with it off). Throw a new ujoint and seal on there.
Great video idea guys. Easy for you to produce, fun for us to witness.
It's a low value car so it needs the usual repair on these and old X5's – remove the driveshaft and give it a distance test*
Drain the oil, clean the oil pan hole with brake cleaner and fix a plate over it with Sikaflex and a few screws. Just run it as rear drive only – you'll not notice anything wrong. You can disconnect the transfer case actuator plug but it'll bring the warning light on.
Then just drive the thing until it finally shits itself in some other way. Might get another year or three from it.
*see how far you can throw it.
I had one of those come in with a bad drive shaft. Luckily he didn't drive it and tear up anything else. We put a new driveshaft in it for him.
Ok, anybody here know how much, it would cost to fix it if the customer wanred fix? A ball park estimate. I never owned a BMW, my pockets are not deep enough for that, lol. A friend of mine bought, used one, a nice BMW, it was a nice sedan, can't remember the model, had a turbo in it, it was a 2017, he bought it in 2022, he kept it only 2 years, that car had amazing electrical and electronic problems. He sold it when he was starting to have the same nightmare night after night that the car would cost him an other 1,500 $ to change an other sensor, lol. Last time i saw him, he was driving a Corolla, not as glamorous as the BMW, but he doesn't have recurrent nightmares anymore. Lol.
I got nervous just seeing him back out of the shop and wondering if the car the car was going to be able to stop.
