I just replaced the engine in my 2013 128i E82, and my car is throwing fault code 2A15, and my dash says Replace Gas Cap. It's never thrown that code before, but I have the feeling that the purge valve line could be off or not sealing properly. I have the N51 SULEV engine.

GREAT explanation of DMTL–best I've ever seen. Trying to check my son's code as Stealership says its the cannister or pimp. I will do my own troubleshooting after watching this video, although the system is different due to his car being a 335i. Did not understand DMTL until seeing this video—EXCELLENT ansd thanks

I have a DMTL code on my Hyundai but I’ve replaced all evap parts except hoses but still not going away. Was thinking maybe the connection to the dmtl is faulty and doesn’t have any current. Any ideas?

@red95gts says:

For the DMTL Module Fault 142, that’s in decimal. The hex code is 8E.

Super helpful! I’m trying to track down 2A15 on my e92 335i and, after throwing a couple of cheap parts at it, this is what I need to diagnose it.

@A2AWORKSHOP says:

really worth video

@John-Does-It-All says:

I have a p2096 code rather than the codes you mentioned. It says its for the dmtl pump current too high. 2010 328i e90. I also got a p1449 around the same time for the o2 sensor. Not sure if they're related or what to do about them yet. Ill probably replace the o2 sensor for starters. Any ideas?

@LeoFloresE9x says:

I know I’m kinda late to this, but where did you buy ista from? I use Carly currently but I feel like ista would be better. If I can get a response that’d be greatly appreciated

@ABWSKITCHEN says:

I replace the gas cap and no check engine light so far.

@gsgcarreviews says:

My code is 2a17 leakage too high, could this cause the car to run lean?

@alexprojectbaby1403 says:

Hey man what would be the best solution for a broken white plastic seal that seals up the fuel pump and regulator.

@princedripion6472 says:

What about the code p1449

@christopherkotsoglou8292 says:

you should've confirmed the leak by spraying some soapy water on the gas cap , and a smoke machine works better but you needed to close out the vent on the dmtl by grounding out the wire #4

@anttheman6370 says:

Got a p0456 and a ghost code along with it on my 2014 m5 , I just replaced my gas cap today The old one was pretty worn out hopefully this fixes my code

@ApexKilla49_ says:

This code popped up last week on my 330ci. I put 91 octane at Wawa and the code popped right on. Smh 2nd time going thru this with Wawa gas. I've always put 93 but here n there I go cheap. Lol the code went away on its own last time, hopefully tomorrow that I fill up 93 it'll go away.
