Audi Q3 Battery Replacement and Reset

Audi Q3 Battery Replacement and Reset

In this video I replace the battery in an Audi Q3. The new battery must be matched to the vehicle, and this can be performed with a scanner. The scanner I used is now obsolete. You can purchase a newer one cheaper at: https://bit.ly/3zMcEh4 and if you use gk15 you can get an additional %15 off, so it would only be about 100 for the scanner.

Hi, ive got to replace the rear bulb holder cluster on mu 2012 q3 due to shorting on the connector, i already have the new clip with wires ready for the holder to arrive, my plan was then to join to old wires if you get me, can i do this without removing the battery and making sure the ignition is off, im worried about disconnecting battery while i do it incase i need to reprogram anything or anything gies wrong with ECU etc. so basically im joining a new clip with wires attached onto existing wires. I hope you understand me lol

What code scanner are you using and where do you connect it? I have 2016 US Spec Q3 S-Line Quatro Prestige. I just changed the battery at Auto Zone. Battery was not fully dead and was disconnected for about 10 min to get the new one in. It remembered all my settings including all my old address used in my NAV. But if I need to program sometime I want to get the right computer to do it. Thanks

@VictorVillegas-p3t says:

Will it still give you the same error if you don't reprogram it? Ie, good battery bad code?

1st gen, 2015? Strange, my Q3 is 2012…

@SirMalikCobra says:

First gen Q3s are from 2015 to 2018. The bolts that hold the battery are 10mm but the bolt that holds the grommet is 9/16 not 10mm. For 2016 and up you will also need a star bit set to remove the battery housing. The bolt hold down is difficult to get to and has been repositioned inside the housing of the battery not outside like this model.

This is why dealers charge $800 just to reprogram a damn battery.

@marinelacalcerrada377 says:

look how to reset it
