Audi A4 2009 – 2016 Headlight Bulb Replacement DIY!

Audi A4 2009 – 2016 Headlight Bulb Replacement DIY!

I’m going to walk through the easiest way to change both the drivers side and passengers side headlight bulbs on our 2015 Audi A4. This should be the same for 2009 to 2016 Audis. It really is a simple process that anyone can do.

I’m specifically going to walk through changing our the Xenon bulb and replacing it with a Philips Xenon D3S bulb. These are the best to go to for OEM replacements.

What are those little plastic pins called that hold the cover? I stupidly didn't push down first and then pull up so I broke them all. Thought they were just old, but no, I was just stupid 4 times

Thanks a million for this. My first Audi but was VW prior. Long story short, moved to EU wanted a 2.0 tdi Sportwagon, the A4 Avant were cheaper! A heads up to anyone using this in the EU and/or with a TDI. I have a 2010 A4 2.0tdi Avant(wagon). There were just a few quirks to keep an eye out for. The clip is upside down but once figured out easy enough. The issue I had was extra hoses attached to and through the box. I wasn’t able to pull it out BUT it becomes moveable so you can access the light housing. It’s just awkward. Other than that this video is spot on! Cheers!

I did this and now am getting a OBD P0100 engine light and code ? Anyone have this happen

So dumb that they just insist on designing these cars in a way that makes them such a nightmare to work on. Love driving them, but paying for / doing work on them is just an insane feat.

Great video which was just the right pace. I need to replace the xenon bulbs on my 2009 A4 and every other tutorial was advising to remove the entire light assembly!

@EdwarGodinez says:

Are the bulbs that are linked from walmart the same as the amazon linked ones?

@DatSquatGap says:

This is laughably easy compared to doing the same on an A3, there everything is so cramped it's ridiculous. You have a 4cm gap between headlight access hole and the fuse box behind it. Any idiot can replace bulbs on an A4.

I just took my passenger side apart and the connector doesn’t look the same
