Volvo XC90 Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement DIY (2016-Present Volvo XC90 SPA)

Volvo XC90 Fuel Pressure Sensor Replacement DIY (2016-Present Volvo XC90 SPA)

►The twin-charged VEA engine in the SPA Volvo XC90 is a complex modern engine with some easy-to-change parts. Just under the engine cover sits the fuel pressure sensor, an essential key to engine function that happens to go wrong commonly. Luckily, replacing the fuel pressure sensor is one of the more straightforward repairs you can make to your Swedish family hauler.

The returnless fuel system used on the VEA engine uses a fuel pressure sensor to monitor what the fuel pump is sending up to the engine. It then adjusts the fuel flow based on what it sees and how much the engine needs. An improperly functioning sensor will present a CEL code—mostly likely a P0180C—and some rough running. It’s a sensor, so it can fail any time. Be prepared to replace it.

In this video, Mike Hidalog, FCP Euro’s Professional DIYer, replaces the Fuel Pressure Sensor in a Volvo XC90 SPA.

I am getting P02B00 and P01068. What could be the reason. I did supercharger reseal and FRONT O2 sensor replacement. But lean codes are not going away.

@vlad888-7 says:

Finally, found what I was lookin for
Hopefully it's just this, and the engine light will 'shut up'
Thanks

Hi! I have a 2021 B5 Diesel XC90 and last week I saw a turtle shape on screen and go to service. This P133009 eror code says injector control pressure too lower than desired. Which part cause this kind of problem? They couldn't find yet. What is your advise for this situation?

@StenLee_v1 says:

Can you show on a video for the fuel filter replacement on US models, what do you do when with the inside tank fuel filter?

@TDDt757 says:

The hose won't come out.

@TDDt757 says:

I already unlocked it, the tube won't come out!

Thanks man really helpful video

@k6928-j2i says:

Can you do another video about how to install the entire fuel pressure sensor kit thats on the website?

@deeyoung402 says:

Is there a video on how to replace the fuel line with the elbow piece that was removed. Part# 31669066. I have a crack in the elbow that is spewing gas.

@kim_cheong says:

@fcpeuro Can I just replace the sensor without replacing the fuel feed line for S60 Volvo P3 Chassis? What is the reason for replacing Fuel feed line while replacing the fuel pressure sensor?

@escalona8764 says:

Would this cause a p0442 check engine light?

@sohrabkhazaei-b8o says:

hello
Where can I get this sensor for xc60?

@renat644 says:

Activé les sous-titres pour traduction merci

@98XC1 says:

I would love to see how vechicle behaved with old sensor. To have a quick code read with the scanner to see which code it most likely to throw. But then it would be SMA or PHAD channel and not FCP. Thank you for all you do guys.

@Kawaryo says:

この世代でも燃圧センサーが弱点のままなの?

@RayThomasEyeOfRay says:

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this! Just ordered the part this morning! Perfect timing

@slavrenz88 says:

You don't need to remove the fuel pump fuse and run the vehicle for a moment? How do you release the fuel pressure and/or drain the system?

@mattwilliams9949 says:

Did the fuel pressure sensor on my 2009 C30 T5 last week.
