Volvo Rear Shock Removal And Replacement DIY (Volvo P3 – S80, V70, XC70, XC60, S60,V60)

►If your Volvo’s suspension is feeling “bouncy” or “loose,” it can likely be attributed to blown or worn shock absorbers. The purpose of a shock absorber is to dampen the recoil of the coil spring as your car travels over dips and bumps in the road. When your shock absorbers start to fail, you may notice noise from the front end over bumps, squeaks, visible leaks around the shocks, and overall poor handling of the vehicle. Jay Van Gorden is here to walk you through the steps needed to remove and replace the rear shocks on your Volvo P3 chassis vehicle.

If you need more suggestions I could use that you showed Volvo P3 rear wheelbearings / hubs replacements. Thanks in advance 🙂

Dave Berquist says:

It says "XC70" but my 2004 XC70 requires removal of the spring/shock assy – seems like the same process for removing the front strut/spring. Sort of misleading or am I not seeing something? Thanks

Garth E. Bosman says:
