svardslag says:

Tack som fan!
Thank you all the way from Sweden!

I have the same car, only bad thing that my model is one of those volvo v40
that came with a Renault-engine (volvo had some co-operation with Renault
for a while, the Volvo Engines that are built in Sweden have higher
quality, french cars have a rather bad reputation in Sweden for bad their
bad durability)

i have this exact car, make more videos replacing the sensors, like idle
control valve, o2 sensor, map sensor…well the map sensor might be too
easy lol so nvm that last one

You have a Phase 1? I’ve got a 2004 V40 and the wirings are a mess. Can’t
understand why they make it more and more difficult to perform any repairs
and maintenance.

Thanks for your help!

Trina Parker says:

Your fuel filter is large and it’s on the driver’s side in front of the
back tire. There is a shield to remove and the rubber caps on the new
filter you need them to cut off both sides of the fuel line you also need
to depress the fuel in order not to have so much pour out. You need to have
some throw away towels I promise you will have it on you and all over the
ground if not done properly. Google how to change a fuel filter on your
specific car. Most inline filters are in the same place.

AND HOW TO MAKSE SURE PROPERTY TUNE-UP TO GET MORE MILEAGE ON PETROL
CONSUMPTION.

Trina Parker says:

Oil changes are harder to do than the fuel filter. The cost to change the
oil yourself with all that you need for disposal, filter and oil is close
to the same price you spend to have it done at Kwik Kar or other Oil change
garages. Plus they are liable just encase the oil filter is loose or they
forgot to put it back on and your oil drains out and engine burns up. I
know people that have done this and it’s quite costly too.

very helpful video. thanks=)

Todd L says:

Thanks. Looked at the engine and wondered where the heck they were.

Friss99 says:

Excellent video. Many thanks

Trina Parker says:

You don’t need to replace the sway bar. Replace the bushings and brackets
on both sides. Sway bars very seldom need to be replaced unless you have
wrecked the vehicle. I just replaced both of mine no more metal on metal
everytime I hit a bump in the road now and the steering is fine. Check your
struts also. I lived in CA moved to TX the road conditions in CA far worse
than TX.

Dillins40 says:

Great videos

Bel2sp says:

I am looking for a swaybar bushing and silent block change, if I understand
it well, the bushings of the swaybar can not be replaced, the whole bar
must be changed ?! I get a feeling of all the bumps on the road while
driving even the surface of the streets can be noticed.

Mark's Garage says:

Oh heck! Replace your spark plugs every 30,000 miles or 3 years (what ever
comes first) What ever the problem is, they certainly need doing!

animalmother4 says:

Hi Mark, I bought a 2003 Volvo S40 in Feb of this year, it only has 57k
miles and i would say the spark plugs have never been changed. Do you think
after 10 years I should replace them? My engine stalled in 95 degree heat
the other day on the way to work, its an automatic so it was obviously not
normal – could be an alternator or battery issue, or a spark issue. Thanks
