Hey Robert, again I seek your advice. I suddenly had my car not want to shift out of park. I was considering checking the solenoid, but in the meantime I realized I don't have any brake lights either. I just recently replaced the brake light switch, so I checked that, along with all the fuses, which also seem to be fine. Please give me some idea of what I can do to fix this before I get pulled over.

Hey Robert. Just removed this. A wire wasn’t connected to the microswitch. Soldered it back in place. Still doesn’t work. The plunger – not spring side piece – just falls. Guessing plunger doesn’t work. If I don’t reinstall a new one do I need it other than for shiftlock? Or does it disrupt other functions and needed to be in place?
hi I have 06 S40 today it started when I came home I get click Everytime I depress or press brake when in park or neutral and key in acc or started , once power is on I also noticed buzz sound from under hood , car drives and shifts fine automatic and no noise when driving
Robert you rock! my '97 960 wont go into park. otherwise works and drives great! I start it in neutral and use the parking break but sometimes it rolls when I park it. is there a "quickish fix"
Hey Robert I had this problem in my car today my gears shift good but when the cars in park and I press the brake I can hear the solenoid (loud clicking noise) only when the car is in park

i am having an awful time with my 99 volvo s80t it stuck in neutral but it appears when looking at it that its in manual drive ( on the left where the plus and minus are) anyway it rolls and starts up because its really in neutral . so i have tried already to clean the shift lock cable and was told to then check the knob button so im checking on that but i cant get the knob off . i tried pulling really hard because i watch other videos on how to and they were also having trouble . i'm wondering if there is a little trick to it that i am overlooking ? i have been watching videos for two days now . i'm not one to quit , can you help me please

I think that Lil button is stuck …fuel pump relay you saved me tons last year never would of found thoughs relays
I seen that one its not the stuck shifter knob if the shift freely button is pushed in can u take the key out
Hey bud love ur videos helped me multiple times with my 99 s70 ? if the shift lock button is stuck it will shift freely though gears is that why my key won't come out of ignition is because that buttons stuck?
I have a 2001 Volvo s80 that keeps going into limp mode in 3rd gear. I changed the transmission fluid & filter, then reset the computer. At this point I'm down to the Solenoid. Can't seem to find anything that tells me where they are or how to get to them. 2001 Volvo s80 T6. Does anyone know..?

My 850 Volvo starts when cold, but when it warms up, it won't start.. Changed the PNP switch today, and still the same thing, When the car doesn't start I shake the shifter knob up and down and side to side. And then it will start?? Crazy I know. What do you think?
Sure enough. The switch is fried, it won't open upon pressing the brake. So I took it out as a temp fix til I can find the solenoid. It's not available anywhere within the state of AK.
Thank you! I will try this on my car this weekend. I have had this problem for a while now, and everyone kept telling me it was a bad ignition switch or a burnt out tail light. everything else checked out. I just didnt know about this issue. Seems popular on the 850's

I,m looking to buy a 2002 CX90 Diesel and I was hoping you could tell me what to look out for regarding the early models.I,ve had a 1998 V70 petrol for the last 8yr,s and thank,s to you I have been able to do all the maintanance and servicing myself, ,your vidioes are brilliant.I live in Wales and have told all my butty,s about you so you have quite a following here,in case you don,t know WALES is a part of the U.K.we have our own language ,it,s the little bit that sticks out half way down on the West coast of the U.K.
Any way any advice you can give me would be great.I toure central europe for 9month,s of the year with my V70 towing a 20 ft. caravan it,s about 3/4 of a ton.than return to Wales for our short summer.

Good video, after watching this I'm certain that the solenoid is not working on my volvo 965.
Like a genius, I was pushing the 'W' button on and off while in the snow the other day.. I turned it off and on real quick and now I got transmission codes, PO7040 and PO700.. I think one said something about the torque converter, and the other said something about the transmission solenoid..
The car still drives, but I think it went into some kind of 'safe mode' though. Every now and then, theres a small delay in shifting, and sometimes if i give it full throttle, it kinda 'slips' like a standard with a bad clutch..
Anyone ever had to deal with this? Are the solenoids inside or out? easy or not?
