Removing and fixing the ABS Module from the Volvo C70

So I pulled the ABS module, reflowed the solder on the joints to attempt a repair then refitted it. Did it work?

Well, in one car I have V70 2.5i 144 CV the ABS failure is on and off. It is not a fix failure. First I was thinking it could be the ABS control module. But checking the conector 4+21 pins, I notice that tapping on the conector the ABS light went OFF. So I suggest to recheck that conector and put something to increase presure in order to mantain a better contact between Cable Conector and Zocale conection to ABS control Module. No need to remove it. Just clean the contacts and fasten it back.

I would get a scanner that is designed for ABS. It looks to me that it is a wheel bearing. Usually the front one.

Following the road test has the ABS light behaved itself since this video?

Patrik says:

Well the most volvos needs 3 foulty free starts to get the lights and the code to go away.. Mine V70 -97 needed only 2 but the lights went off and the faulty code went away as well. and yes there are a silicon layer on 90 of 100 ABS modules.

So ??? Did it work for you finaly ??

Coyote_Drift says:

Dear Santa, this year Steve would like a Dremel please 🙂

Normally to clear an old error on ABS you have to drive it so it picks up the movement on the hub, then the light goes out and resets the fault. Of course it just might not be fixed still.

Also using a OBD II to USB hooked up to your phone and clear the codes if your reader can't see all of them ( some don't .)
