this is near half an hour's worth of work so why is my mechanic telling me it's an extensive 2 hour job and he says it will be around $180 + GST? anybody?

Dana Howe says:

11:00 is there no rubber seal on the drivers side like there is on the passenger side? it magically appeared at 14:19 so i guess that answers my question as mine was missing it as well.

Leon 8259 says:

Thanks for informative video, I can now change mine. This is the only one I saw use no machine tool to remove all the rusty part. Nice job madam. I notice the control arm is new why they didn´t replace the caliper when they change the control arm? just wondering.

gg taruc says:

Btw, that looks like a new LCA!! Was there a video for that?

gg taruc says:

Very well done video! I plan to do this on my 04 XC70. Where does the 1A Auto bearing come from? Who makes it? What is the warranty?

Dana Howe says:

Thank so much for such an in-depth walk through. I was able to easily get that top bolt with a 3/8" 17mm short socket and 6" extension once i hammered back the axle.

Kim Price says:

Use a small wire brush on a low speed drill to clean knuckle bore prior to bearing install. sharp scraper may be required for deposits. No mention of the seal between the CV joint and inboard side of the bearing. Lube the splines. Neverseize the hub at rotor install. Thanks for the torque specifications.

erittäin hyvä video ,nainen kyllä osaa hyomman

Very informative and helpful video – thank you for posting this.

Roger Camp says:

Excellent video, but i notice that you didnt use new bolts for the bearing. Also the bolts for the caliper carrier should have been replaced as well. Due to the torque settings and the fact that the lady mashed the head on one of them.

Adnan Medic says:

That was some great work. I have a 2004 XC70 and my front right wheel bearing is starting to hum at low speed. I was planning on only replacing front right. Do you think that will be ok or should they be replaced in pairs?
