Bodie Manly says:

Hey Robert, thanks for the great video. I have used it to pull codes off my 1995 850 OBD-1 in the past. Right now when I use this technique I can only get codes from A7. when I plug into the other ports and hold the button for the same amount of time, it doesn't flash any code. No flashes at all for anything but A7, and I'm not able to reset the codes. On some of the other spots it dimly shows the red light when I plug it in, but on others, no light at all. I wondering if I need to replace anything in the plug system? Any thoughts for when it flashes for one but won't flash anything for the others? I'm pretty sure it has codes stuck in some other places that I've gotten codes in the past (like A3), and that's stopping me from resetting.

CraftAndu says:

Well, I am confused! I own a 1995 850 but there is no OBD port under my hood. From the OBD2 port (inside) I can't get any information for some reason.

By far the most helpful person on youtube for car issues. Having gone from volkswagon to jeep to now volvo these videos are the most clear cut and easy to follow i have ever seen

2Small2Fail says:

Robert, if I'm correct that this applies to the 960 as well, what I just discovered trying to check transmission codes on my 1993 960 (OBD1) is that instructions I find online say to plug the test lead into hole #1 to run this test. Problem is: when I check the OBD unit, hole #1 has no wires going to it. The harness that feeds the OBD unit A (there are two) only has wires going to 4 of the 8 holes, by design. And hole #1 is not one of them. Your thoughts? Thank you!

Hi Robert, another great video. You are a wealth of information! Thank you so much for sharing it! I'm a single mom of a United States Marine and have limited income. Recently having problems with my ABS brakes engaging on their own while driving at about 25 miles per hour. Any suggestions? The wheel speed sensors were recalled years ago & the dealer replaced them for me. The car has just over 170,000 miles, but I would like to keep it running. Can you please give me suggestions. Is it the ABS module or wheel speed sensors that are bad, need cleaning, all or only bad one need to be replaced? Thank you in advance for your help.

What a fantastic video, so much valuable information! If you only knew how few mechanics know this about our old Volvos… I have a Volvo '92 960 😉
I do have one question – It looks like that between you reading your error codes, and you resetting your codes, you had moved the jumper cable from port 2 to port 3 – is that correct? And why?

Ur Dad says:

James Macdonald says:

Hi, my A3 ABS port has thrown up 122, 141, 142, 211, 311 and 322??????

William Arenas says:

I noticed you started working with A2 port (fuel system airs) and then without any reason, you changed to A3 port (ABS) and then reset the port. Can you explain that? Why you changed the port? If we get the "check engine" message how we know what port we need to start working with? Do we need to buy a special tool? and if this is the case what's the name of it? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Amy Schaffer says:

Hi Robert. I did this with my 93 and all went well except for the A3, no light came on at all, ant that’s the main one I was hoping for since my abs light is on, any suggestions?

Katie Marie says:

What should i do if it’s not reading any codes?
