Oscar Rolando says:

is this the same set up for a 08?…..and great video

gokartbuyer says:

thought they were being made by ford now?

briansmobile1 says:

So am I?

briansmobile1 says:

@daronadidas I prefer the term “idiot hood” they are deceptive, like “fools
gold”. The word idiot bears an offensive connotation. As an intelligent
consumer, we should be bothered by the idiot hoods and reject them. lol

briansmobile1 says:

@snazzykick Swap the coils and mark the one that you think is bad. If the
P030X code follows where your marked coil is- then you know the coil is
bad. There are ohm test you can do on them, but they are as effective as
blood letting (old medical practice of cutting sick people to get the blood
where they thought the sickness was out of the body) most of the time. They
don’t detect cracks, ignition leaks, etc.

NETWizzJbirk says:

Can’t believe they used Torx. They REALLY don’t want the average Joe in
there changing his spark plugs!

briansmobile1 says:

I would recommend the tool especially if it’s your first time. It will make
it much easier. I don’t have a vid on that one, but it’s much like the
subaru timing belt vid I have on my channel

Steve Whitcomb says:

Great vid. Could you do something on changing the oil level sensor? My xc90
V8 always says low oil but it’s fine.

James Raab says:

just saved a pretty decent amount of money mate, thank you very much! if
you want to do more xc90 videos, i won’t complain haha 🙂

briansmobile1 says:

Welcome. This customer sold theirs. : (

David Redmon says:

good think i watched this i have 2 of these…

Joshua Pilgrim says:

Brian, how do I change out my MAF on a 2005 XC90?

Darkc0w says:

Thank you so much for the video, it really helped a lot. I do have a
question, can I hand tighten the plugs? Or do you suggest using a socket?

Omar Chisolm says:

thanks for posting Brian =D

hannahbaloo49 says:

Thanks for an awesome video. Agree with daronadidas, looks pretty
overwhelming at first glance but being able to watch your step by step vid
takes away much of the apprehension. Thanks again and will be following
your posts. I’ve saved a lot today just watching your vid on cabin air
filters, for $10 bucks at Cost Less, saved 10 times that from the shop
price. Thanks again!

briansmobile1 says:

@slidewalker Some times the “boots” can be taped with electrical tape. You
can pin point which coil is bad by swapping them around to see if the
misfire follows a particular coil from cylinder to cylinder. I recommend
doing this because sometimes the Knock sensor will misdiagnose which
cylinder is misfiring. You can also unplug the injector while it’s running
and if you pull one and the engine rpms don’t change then THAT is the
cylinder with a bad coil.

briansmobile1 says:

@snazzykick Thanks. Glad it worked out well for you.

Mario Alberto Villa Ponce says:

This could work on a 2004 T6 or not?

briansmobile1 says:

@RDIzzle109 That’s nice eigh?

daronadidas says:

Thanks…I seriously thought it was more complicated that that…your
right, it was the engine covers!

snazzykick says:

now how do you diagnose if ignition coils are bad? i got a cylinder
missing, hence the reason i changed plugs (and i am at 90k). do i just get
one and try it out until problem fixed…i could just take it to volvo i
suppose, but not for the DIY’er. Any reason why a cylinder would not be
firing? injector?

Tiago Melo says:

Buddy , THANK YOU ! I AM JUST A PERSON THAT LOVES TO WORK IN CARS ,
Learning by my self … on my used volvo xc90 2006, i like the style and i
always was told that volvo is a auto that i can trust … so i jump into
buying one , but the dummy cover got me for 3 minutes do!.. LMAO.. Ps:
Thank you for sharing.. all the best .

Ryan Davis says:

I like that the timing belt can be checked very easy

Jason James says:

Thanks so much Brian for the assistance. Very helpful dealing with the
covers. I replaced the spark plugs last night, and unfortunately, after
completion, it will not start….. Ideas where to troubleshoot?

lexusfan100 says:

nice one..you should also do removal/cleaning of throttle body

omar chavez says:

Hello Brian I have a 2005 xc90 T5 with 101miles am working on the timing
belt but am stuck on putting back the belt do I need a special tool for the
cam I need some guidance thanks

LKV says:

Muahahaha made in the USA but still swedish? 🙂

iNf3rNuSdI4bLuS1 says:

hehe, yep. but i totally agree with you, and just like i comented to you
last time… for me those plastic covers make the car look ugly, why can’t
a car’s engine look like a hot rod’s or a modded car’s engine?

briansmobile1 says:

It may be spilling out under high pressure while on the highway etc. Or
dripping onto the exhaust and evaporating while driving. A worn out
radiator cap could cause that sort of thing, or a hose with a pin hole leak
near a clamp. Hoses often won’t leak when cold, but when hot and under
pressure they will.

briansmobile1 says:

Welcome Tiago!

Marnarabyss says:

Would you believe that they lied about the rotting of the hose? Because I
would expect there would be issues with the car by now if it were
“rotting”. They drained me of all my money I saved up months ago and I
didn’t have any spare money to repair it until what would be now, due to
being sick and being out of work for many months.
