DJ Wallick says:

Your replacing the stock Nivomat shocks (Auto Leveling) with regular shocks. You also need to replace the coil springs too. There is a conversion kit available. Can't say I blame anyone for getting regular shocks, Nivomat replacements are about $400 and change.

Martin Heitmann says:

I really like your vids. But one thing you should mention: There are tightening torques that should be observed

Anton G says:

wrong shock but right procedure

Is this car AWD?

Guys……. I made the likes 200!

Dave Berquist says:

Using chrome extensions and sockets with an impact gun is a dangerous thing to do – the socket will likely shatter at some point. That's why they make impact extensions and sockets.

Mario Ramirez says:

Wow ….. Thanks

1171karl says:

So can anyone tell me, what are the issues or risks with fitting standard shocks and not replacing the springs?

Jock Wilson says:

Hi do you have a video for changing the rear springs on a 2002 Volvo S60? Thanks

Dan the Vintage RV'er says:

Wonderful videos and very informative without all the narration. My wife wanted a Volvo and so I'm getting familiar with this vehicle vs my old BMW's and other such cars. I replaced the front struts with no issues thanks to your videos. Rear shocks appear to be even more simplistic. Thanks again!

cgraham6 says:

Just a quick tip since I did this job myself today. You MUST use an impact to remove the top nut. A socket and ratchet alone will not work. It allows the damper shaft to spin and the nut will never come off. This also applies to putting the new nylock nut on the new damper. An impact does the job and does it well.

Thang Nguyen says:

Autodoc is the best video auto repair, the video are well lit clearly show what he is doing, he's not talk-a-Dy like other guys, he just show and do

Zac Zac says:

Awesome video thank you guys…

riley633 says:

Is this the same procedure to remove and replace a Nivomat self leveling shocks? Where exactly did you jack up to support the control arm?

Stephen Cannon says:

the old shocks were disposed of but original label showed. SACHS

Stephen Cannon says:

I checked with dealer and it was not listed as Nivomat. Took a helper but he was able to get a vise grip hold….hammered and twisted but eventually worked. Sorry I forgot to post results earlier…Bilstein HDs are installed and like riding on a cloud of air.

David Black says:

Why did you fit a standard shock absorber when the one you removed was a Nivomat self levelling shock?

If you swap Nivomat shocks out for standard ones you need to replace the springs too – both sides obviously.

Stephen Cannon says:

I have drivers rear lower bolt removed. the punch I used to push out the bolt is now stuck in the bushing track……any ideas?

Israel Cortes says:

What size rims and brand plz???
