Jonathan Cost says:

Would this procedure work on a 2019 XC40. They use a new platform.

Dale Sh says:

So i replaced the rear pads and the message on the dash is still on it say emergency parking not fully engaged any idea why? I check everything is connected thx for the help

Y W says:

Great video, will save me lots of beers! What's the point to press the piston? Can you skip that? Thanks!

Regan Wright says:

Great video; just did my own using your guide. Super easy and a total crime what the dealer charges!

One note; it’s not 5/16mm as you say a few times, it’s simply 5mm.

BW Williams says:

Great Tutorial and nice video, Why do I see others using a 9V battery to disengage the electric parking brake ? I must be missing something or is this an optional step ? Thank you!!

hemant patel says:

Very good work..

Vathsan says:

Very nice … I know it costs an arm and leg to service my xc90.

V60 Polestar says:

Nice job! Get yourself a EPB scan tool if you plan on keeping the XC90. Makes life much easier. No need to remove epb you can put it in service mode like the dealership does. Volvo eat through rear pads every 25k-30k miles.

Tuan Lam says:

nice video, thank you! one question: do you have to untwist the electric park brake bolt before you put everything back together?

Yordan Hristov says:

Good tutorial. Bmw wanted 245£ for rear pads on my 640d and i went to a garage i trust. Job done with Brembo ones and sensor for 140. Dont know why dealerships charge a lot higher

neer0724 says:

Thanks for the video – very useful! At the 4:20 mark you are tightening the parking brake bolt with your 3/8 wrench. When you reassemble the parking brake do you not have to loosen this or just reassemble?
Thanks again…

Piotr Bilik says:

wth…non-metric tools

Hevendra Narayansamy says:

A little late this vlog. Well done. Nice tutorial once again. And what's nice is that this procedure is similar to most vehicles with an electronic e-brake.

Fluffy Bunny Feet says:

Please do not ever squeeze your caliber piston in like that. Pliers have teeth/grooves that can damage the piston. If you damage the piston near the edge you run the risk of cutting/rubbing through the piston boot and all your brake fluid will pushed out of that new hole and you will have no brakes. Since most people will not have a special tool, just get a bigger pliers and leave the worn out inside pad/backing plate in place as a buffer between the piston and your pliers. Once the piston is recessed, remove the old inside pad/backing plate.

Michael Thompson says:

Tommy where do you get that screwdriver?

Thomas Rock says:

You're not really bedding the brakes if you haven't installed new rotors. The bedding process is about evenly distributing pad material on to the surface of the rotor. Your old rotors already have pad material bedded in.
