t van antwerpen says:

you should have showed how you was shitting to get the drive axle out.Thats interesting !!

Bawss Narmz says:

can you buy same cv joint part for both sides on 2002 c70?

Raymond says:

And what do you do if the axle does not go in easy????

Victor Sinclair says:

Thank you for putting this out in the world of youtube. It helped me do this job without a hitch.

Geoff Rundlett says:

When the axle is held in with a C-CLIP like this one is, what it takes to remove it is one hard blow with a hammer. You can tap and pry all day and get frustrated, but if you put a drift onto a solid face part of the axle perhaps on the CV tulip and give it a good blow from a 2lb sledge, it should be enough to pop free. It can be a challenge to get enough space to swing a hammer or find a good surface to place the drift. If attempting to pry instead, it can help to use a quick motion under the same principle because no matter how you do it, you have to compress the c-clip and get the axle to travel far enough (3/16"?) that the c-clip doesn't expand back into the grove cut for it in the transmission. The problem with that technique is that it can be more prone to skinned knuckles or injury. Of course, you must ALWAYS have rock solid jack stands and safety measures.

John Mahoney says:

"I have never done this before so I am not going to show you my technique"
That is the most important part. What the hell.

Michael Sackstein says:

I've been told it's a good idea to jack the car up on both sides so that there's no pressure on either of the front wheels. makes it easier to get the axles in and out.

xennelul says:

I am about to this on my 1996 Honda odyssey, would you replace the seal at the transmission? It is not leaking at this time.
