This video has my interest.
We have a 2011 Polo TDI with a CFWA engine and the EGR is not working.
Is the procedure you show similar to what I'd need to do to remove the EGR from a Polo?
It looks to be the same EGR valve!

Volkswagen Jetta 6 2,5L 2012, причины кода P2440 ?

Hello, just replaced a skoda octavia (1.6 tdi) egr with a hitachi one. Egr worked fine for two weeks with no errors but since then, the P0403 error is always appearing. Went to two mechanics to do the adaptation but none of them could do it. Can you please further explain how can i do it with the vcds software (or other). I'm really thinking returning the egr as defective. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Fred Houston-McMillan says:

Hi,
What are the physical symptoms of a faulty EGR valve ?
I am interested in this as I have a Jetta 6 Tdi that is giving strange symptoms (since about 4 years old and 60 000km – now 8 years and 120 000km). I have taken it to my local VW dealership when I have had the fault and without. They have been unable to determine via their diagnostics to pick up the problem. At one point they suspected injectors and had them cleaned, but no resolution of the problem. The "older" mechanics I have spoken to have all said EGR valve straight away.
The symptoms I am having (happens randomly and can last from 15 minutes to a whole week of driving), is erratic / rough idling (fluctuates between 950 and 600rpm), feels like a flooded engine when taking off from start (car feels like it wants to cut out when accelerator is depressed), and high diesel consumption. Typically a trip which would be normally around 5.5 l/100km is 10~11 l/100km. I think that this problem over the long term has damaged the engine as it no longer sounds like it used to before this issue. The replacement cost of the EGR valve is a fair amount of cash and my issue is that it may not be the problem. What are your thoughts ?
Any ideas would be most welcome.

Hello,

Can this be ordered directly from you? What are the terms of the warranty ?
I have been trying to find a way to contact you but with no success.

Thank you !

najken says:

The last step, calibrating the egr value, is that only possible using an expensive obd tool?

The Znake says:

Thank you for the great video, please make the next more detailed.
