Hi Scotty, Is it a bad idea to manually shift from D to 2 with an automatic transmission to slow down?
Scotty do you have any advice on a volkswagen jetta from like 2004, a manual 1.4 petrol?
I had a 1974 super bug, put 24k on it. Beat the hell out of it with not one problem, even took it off road and hill climbing, also it was fantastic in the snow. Probably one of the best cars I have ever owned.
at 1:35 just block exhaust with banana and if the engine still running you got a leaking exhaust haha

Scotty my wife is working on her second bug she had a o5 then we got her a 13 we never had a trans failure both were 5 cylinders ( maybe that's the deal) the 05 was a Audi 5 and it wAs a ROCKET the 13 is a VW engine and it has worked flawlessly. Maintenance is a factor just like with the 6.0 Ford diesels with proper maintenance they can last
We have dam good dealership in antelope valley CA. And they have NASA class techs.
I been a mechanic since 77 and these. Guys stump me I can barely follow them.
Volkswagen, Kia and Renault are the best non-premium car brands here in Germany/Europe, I don't care, what other people say!
As long you do the trans services on that VW everything will be "OK"
Scotty I have a 2011 Chevy HHR my driver side floorboard is soaking wet it doesn't leak when I'm driving but when I park it and get back in the floorboard is wet

Newer Beetle. With manual transmission are not bad if take care off em especially the diesel ones I know lady I work has beetle diesel 5 speed has over 300 k miles drives it to work everyday

Oh boy here at Balkan states, VW cars are holly cars. They are overpriced, at least 1.000 to 2.000$ above price of other cars at same class and year.
People do get problems with these cars, but they still say there is no better car than VW.
I would never buy VW just because they are overpriced.
Had a 90 VW Corrado G60, ran great but I traded it for a ZX7R which blue booked way more than the Corrado at that time but it was a fun little car. To bad they didn’t squeeze around 220hp into the engine before adding the supercharger to it, car would’ve been super sweet. But for a 1990 it was a great design and fun to drive…. had about 200,000 miles and still ran strong as all heck.

You can live with stuck gas gauge, we had a (GM) Chevy S10 that would do that. Just fill up the tank, log the mileage, and then only drive X number of miles and fill it up again. It takes like 20 seconds at the gas station to write down the new mileage where you will be down to 1/4 tank and post that number on your cluster. Get close to that, fill up again. You could go by a trip meter if you can remember.
