You put the same blower motor in…..

Kostas Laganas says:

Hi, I am interesting a video How to replace VW Passat 3BG blower motor (fan)

ThePigSheFlies says:

I'm hopeful that my 08 GLI is this easy. I didn't think to look that close at it earlier when doing the resistor (your video on which was spot on). There's several other videos that suggest the '08 requires removing the glove box

Tiffany says:

OMG! Thank you for this! Being female, I feel I get taken advantage of often going into a mechanic shop but videos like these are what I’m looking for to do my own work on my vw. Thank you!! I’ll be looking into buying my parts for A1auto.

Raj Karki says:

Is this video valid for 2009 VW Jetta as well. Also my blower motor resistor keeps dying on 1 t0 3 fan speed settings, could it be because of faulty blower motor although I d not hear any noise coming out of fan when it is running. Thanks

J P says:

Does this work on a 2012 vk6 golf?

I have a constant whistling coming from the AC which doesn't change on the strength of the speed but does lessen if set the hot and loudest on cold so I assume it might only be the AC fan you replaced or …"gulp" a compressor on it's way out

Tanner N says:

So do the automatic temp control AC systems have a blower motor resistor elsewhere? The non autos have the resistor right next to the blower kotor

Fred B says:

Thanks, your video really helped me on the re-installation!

Daniel Love says:

awesome – had some plastic bag trapped in blower motor. Was just about to put it into the mechanic. Sorted it within 10 minutes.

Lambert Matias W3LAM says:

Definitely helped me. Thanks!

Castin says:

I was worried I was going to have to tear apart the dash to get to the blower, but this is unbelievably simple. Bravo Volkswagen.

Peter Szewzek says:

So I lost my heat/defroster in the fall. Changed the $79.00 resistor that wasn't it.
Bought the blower motor $292.00. My mechanic had it all day on 11/23/19. He didn't have time to get to it.
I'll try again tomorrow.
After watching this tutorial,I can likely do it myself if I have to.

Ostap Bender says:

Thank you very much you saved my time snd nerves…

ozzy says:

where are the resistor's on this model. i have an 05 but my underside looks like this and not the other way. and you have a line where the resistor usually goes and so do i?

Marty Martin says:

I just tried this on my 05 passat. It is way harder than this here. It is impossible to get the motor out without it pulling away from the cage as there is not enough room to pull it out fully because of a metal cylinder right behind the dash I think it may contain the air bag. I don't know how I am supposed to put it back in as it won't fit with cage on. And if u try putting cage in the hole first then attaching the rear part the cage just pushes into the hole. OMG such a nightmare.

francisco garcia says:

Mine keep going out. The stock broke as well as the after market one. They work on lower settings but once you turn it up all the way it makes a loud whining noise.

Berk Sarioz says:

Is this the motor that turns on when you turn on the AC/heater fan?

My fan is noisy when I turn it on most of the time, so I turn it off as the noise drives me crazy.

Thank you so much for the quality video!

Kyle Holloway says:

Used this video to change the blower motor on my '06 caddy panel van. It was completely seized up.

Yellowspace says:

I have a Golf Mk5 2007 1.6 FSI petrol RHD and bought the replacement from Eurocarparts for £179. They had a cheap a cheaper version for £113 but i opted for the Valeo version. TBH i really don't know much about the quality difference between the different brands, they're probably the same. For peace of mind I went for the same brand I removed.

This video was straight forward and it only took me a few minutes to locate, remove and replace. Thank you for the upload.

Christian Langevin says:

This does not apply for Passat… misleading title.

Riyaz Mangia says:

I had a lighter from the ashtray in my blower which snapped fee bits of the fan

Joe Lee says:

Just out of curiosity, is it different to change on the mk5 golf gti ?

Stay Humble says:

Where is the blower motor resistor located at?

Erik Eng says:

Thanks! This solved my issue when a toothpick packaging was stuck in the fan.

Christopher Nicolelis says:

Is this the same fan that blows AC Air. My blower works sometimes it comes on than turns off. Is it this heater motor or some other problem? Some times it works for days and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Please help. I would like to do this myself. Thank you.

Sammie Seoul says:

Is the Motor resister in there also?
