All of sudden my car battery light, break symbol came on the dashboard and my steering has became very hard to steer while driving. I have to turn very hard. What could this be?
Wow this was so helpful, my dealership was quoting $500 to replace the belt. I bought a replacement for $28 and a long ratchet for $35. It took about 40 minutes as it took me awhile to grasp how to get the belt around the furthest hub without taking the tire off, but it is within anyone's skill to do. I know mechanics need to make a living too, but I just don't see how a 900 percent mark-up is justifiable.
My dear alero has a dry belt and I’m mustering the courage to get this done. Looks easy, thank goodness. Not in the financial place to take to the mechanic
All these tools a wrong for my car lol. My adjustment bolts are 14mm and 12mm and my pulley lock nuts are 14mm.
I guess my mechanics messed up after changing alternator I was driving after mechanic and after like 10km I heard popping sounds as something was hitting something I stopped and one belt almost snapped and another one that is connected to alternator almost fell off

Great video. I used a large shifter to release tension. Had to remove wheel & arch. Wife held belt on alternator pully while i did the rest from wheel access.

Haha have you seen the video of the guy pulling it down and putting a pin in the tensioner and taking the belt right off… wonder if that’s just newer vehicles
Can get the tensioner to release enough to get the belt back on the alternator of a 2010 Mazda CX-9. Any ideas or tips to help. We did not use a tensioner lock pin.
That lock pin is a great idea the one you're using because my neighbors did not have the right lock pin and they thought they need it the right lock pin and once we saw this video it was done deal they were struggling for over 2 hours and once we watch this video it was quick. Thank you man ‼️

can you bypass the ac with a shorter belt? it's never worked in my car and I think the bearings in the pulley are on their way out. I've got an ea888 2.0 tsi
