Great video, but what about the realignment issue…or scratch marks so you can align it again after on the three bolts at the end of the flattish arm? Is this necessary? Lots say it is…?
Thanks

And what about gearbox oil? If you pull out the axle it'll drain out on some cars.

nice video but 10 mins.. LOL

Brian Baker says:

How is the end of the axle held in the transmission and how do you know that the axle is seated back in the transmission properly when you are putting it back on? Also, what its that 3 holed tab (not sure what to call it) you used when you bolted the brake to the control arm? Are any of the fasteners that you run into during this job stretch bolts? It was a nightmare removing stretch bolts while replacing my timing belt.

Juan Mendez says:

why did you not torqued down the nut for the axle????

Tony Tapuro says:

hi what year new beetle is this you working on cause it said for 98 to 11 and the car you are working on the axle you removed looks different from what I have you pry the axle out of transmission when I thought new beetle axle have 6 bolts and axle is bolted onto transmission flange that's what my 07 new beetle axle have it's a little more difficult than just prying it out like you did

wonderful video ♡…kinda sucks this video shows everything done quickly, easy & process. However, shops want to charge $100 per boot for something that only took 10 mins or so.
I have an 01 VW Beetle which is need of this service.

What size is the cv boot? Is it like 80 or 90 mm?

Fixer 1 says:

don't you have to grease the CV before putting the boot back on. Good video buy the way, very clear and easy to understsnd
