The 2009 SportWagen uses the same license place design. Note the challenge of getting the bulb re-seated into the contacts. There's a video cut, here, and I understand why. This process requires a bit of effort. I tried placing one tapered end into one contact, and pressing the other tapered end down, but that seemed risky. I settled on placing the exterior plastic face down on a flat surface, aligning the bulb tips on the contacts, and pressing downward with firm pressure until the bulb clicked into place. I wore leather gloves. Bulb changeouts… accessing the engine air filter…Why did VW make everything in these cars so cryptically difficult?
IF YOU DID THIS AND STILL NO LIGHT WATCH THIS CLIP. COMMON PROBLEM SOLVED.

I have a 1996 VW Golf MK3 Hatchback. It has a different design. In my car, after removing the two Phillips screws which released the plastic lenses, I had to use a small flat screw driver (401 Fuller) to slide out the bulbs which seemed rather unprofessional but it worked!
what is the bulb #?????????????????????
what is the bulb number for the mk4 jetta?
