We show you how to install a diverter valve on a 2.0t VW. This video was shot on a MK5 with the 2.0t TSI engine, but would also apply to the 2.0t FSI engine. Diverter Valves (DV’s) are a common item to fail on this engine and should be inspected if you see a loss of power, N249 faults or Underboost faults.

Is it the same location on a 2016 Tiguan SEL?
I've been trying to change it on my car, but I don't have the ability to lift the car up. Let me tell you how much of a pain in the ass it is to even lift it up.
How do you unclip the connector? I see how it clips on the new one but can't get the clip off the old one.
What would be reason to upgrade a DV in a MkV?
Thanks Guy's… Just did a new valve plus the GFB DV+ Kit on our MK6 GTI. Connector Plug was a bit stubborn but we got it. Very pleased with our efforts.
I changed this valve this year.
It was leaking small amount of oil
It leaked for 4 years. Small amounts…
Finally I was able to change it.
Much clean back there now..
