Do I fill the filter with oil before screwing the new one on?
HELP at 2:28 whats the name for that plastic part with a sensor, at the
right side of the window washer fluid container? it has a hose that says
>ECO< connected to it
Is 5w-30 mobile 1 full synthetic okay to use in this specific car?
Dude, looks you’re using freaking cooking oil.
if you just want to change the filter and not drain the oil can you simply
unscrew the filter and swap then top it off?
i can change my oil air and fuel filter very easy from the hood but i let
the oil flow from below in a can
Is this the same way to change the oil for a 2003 VW Golf?
Where is the oil mark supposed to be on the dipstick?
Awesome video, I’ll definitely use it when I change my oil. But do you need
to fill up the new filter with oil before screwing it on? Or will it just
circulate in there by itself when firing up the car? Thanks a bunch for the
upload
It depends on where the oil pan drain plug is located. On our Jetta, when
we only lift the front of the car, the drain plug is still at the lowest
point of the oil pan. Therefore, all (or nearly all) the oil drained out
without raising all four wheels.
off topic question..i have a 2003 jetta 2.0 wagon..runs at 2800 rpm’s doing
60mph,,is this normal?
What kind of oil should i use for my jetta same as yours
I just changed the oil on a 2006 VW new beetle and the oil filter goes into
a plastic housing. I only saw one area for the O-ring. Removed the old
o-ring and replaced with a new one, but, there is a second o-ring with the
fram oil filter I used and I am afraid that there could be a place for a
second o-ring. Could you let me know if that second o-ring is there for
another type of housing or should both o-rings have been used?
i actually remove and install the oil filter from above, from the top view
you have perfect access to it…. that way you stay crean 😀
I laugh at people who pay money to have someone else change oil for them
If I just have a regular floor jack, can I do this then? Or do I have to
lift the car completly?
You mentioned inserting a new copper ring/washer after reinstalling the
drain plug. I’ve heard this a lot but since this will be my first oil
change, I’m not sure where to get one, or what kit it comes with. Could you
clarify? Thanks for the great video!
I have oil sludge under oil cap, 2000 jetta I don’t think there is a pvc
valve? I heard that could be the problem
My 2000 jetta didn’t have the bottom shield D:
I have read a lot about using mobile 1 5-40 synthetic oil is that what you
recommend? Would you recommend using oil detergent to remove sludge? thank
you for any help you can provide? Gregg
@AutoWerksofAmerica Thanks for the reply. On your video clip here at about
1:48 where you are removing the drain bolt, is that some sort of a OEM skid
plate there protecting the bottom of the oil pan ? Or is that the actual
bottom of the oil pan itself ?
The Bentley service manual says oil drain plug to oil pan torque is 30Nm
(22 ft-lb) for VW Mk4 Golf/ Jetta 4cyl and 6 cyl engines.
I laugh at people who pay money to have someone else change their oil for
them
We use a floor jack to raise the car but use jack stands to keep it safely
in he air.
Well you saved me the job of typing the same question. I hope he used fully
synthetic oil meeting Volkswagen 502 or 505 spec whatever it is today.
u went from Mobile 1 to Fram??? WTF?? I hope that’s your car…
Should have only one o-ring.
Lol I have been laughing at myself for a long while. I know its simple just
fucking lazy. I figure it helps keep some people at a job though.
Hello AWoA: I have an 02Jetta which I lowered via coilovers. Recently I
drove over a speed bump at about 10-15 mph and hit the under carriage of
the car. I looked under and saw that the oil pan was scraped/scratch. Do
you think I pinched the oil pan gaskets and will probably experience a leak
in the future ? what other damage do you think I probably caused ?
The idea is to get the oil warm enough to flow freely. You don’t have wait
at all, just until you can touch the engine without burning yourself.
How can you tell on the Dipstick if there’s enough oil? is it the yellow
line? thanks
for mexicans watching this video: it’s the same thing with Polo and of
course SEAT cars like Córdoba, Ibiza, León and Alhambra
Fram pfft
im def giving it a shot soon.
After a short drive to warm up the oil, how long should I wait for the car
to cool down before changing the oil?
It’s an indent near the very bottom that looks like this [ Your oil level
should be within the indent but at the top. Then again if you couldn’t find
it the chances of you being able to understand what I said are slim.
@AutoWerksofAmerica The biggest advantage with synthetics is reduced
friction. This can result in better engine performance and higher mpg.
Will this work for my 2002 jetta vr6?
What you see there is a metal OEM skid plate
1999 Volkswagen VW Jetta VR6 auto around 150000 needs 1 quart every 2 weeks
with some body damage 2000$ is it worth buying? thank you
There is a line that says “full,” the oil should hit that mark.
makes sense lol. I just like to save money and it really doesn’t take long.
try it
lol at 2:04 the guy seemed super surprised and dropped the bolt. thought
that was funny.
