Thanks. Same problem. 1.8gti 132kw AUQ. BIG LIKE 4 you!
I was referring to the rotation of the cam or phone..lol..when taking video it should be held sideways vs vertical… at any rate I think my 1.8T has this same leak, though yours seem easier to access than mine..
really…?? with this camera view
First off, absolutely great tutorial. I followed it to a "T" and had the entire thing done in an hour or so. Took me awhile, as I had to flush my system a few times to get all the old coolant out.
Also, in case you were interested, ECS Tuning and EuroWise teamed up and made an entire cast aluminum cooling system upgrade kit for much of our failure prone plastic components. Maybe be a bit pricier, but it definitely will hold up longer and let's be honest, looks cooler. If interested, see below.

funny, mine also only leaked when i was parked coming home from work in my drive way. Thanks for the video and science facts about alcohol vs coolant lol
same happened on my 05 passat 1.8L it was leaking when its only cold.. and it took me while to figure that out
Good job, I'll be doing this tomorrow. Thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial! Great Video! I was going to get the $7 flange but not now. Great tips and advice.
Thanks for the info dude, I'm going to have to do this to my Jetta this weekend.
