Just another quick video showing how to replace the front brake pads on a 2013 Volkswagen Passat. This vehicle did not have the sensor wire to tell when the pads are worn down, but some models do have that wire. It’s easy, just disconnect it and reconnect it to the new brake pad.

You will need:
flathead screwdriver
7mm allen wrench
pliers

the front brake pad kits online look like there's a wiring harness coming off one of the pads….i'm guessing that would be self explanitory once i'm in there… like unplug old and replace with new? is that going to be on the passenger side? thanks for the video….super easy!

Hi,

Thanks for the useful tutorial but I was wondering:

I noticed you used the screw driver to pry out the caliper but you did not use the Rewind Piston tool like some people have done in other tutorials?

I am doing a bit of research on how to safely remove the brake pads and calipers so I can clean and paint them and obviously put them back together

Any tips would be useful

Regards John
