My AVH 4100NEX would not turn off when I turned my 07 Jetta off, and because of your video. I finally got that problem fixed. Thank you!
Question though, it seems that my unit asks for the password every time I turn the car on. Any ideas why?

Michael P. says:

Fantastic video, helped me a ton! Love that you linked the items in the description and explained everything in detail!

Is the dash kit required for all Double-DIN installs on this vehicle? Thanks.

Nick L says:

Man the fitment on that dash kit certainly leaves something to be desired…

rhoddin says:

So my son has 07 Jetta with the amplified system. Called crutchfield and they new nothing about a different install harness. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the video.

Hello, my stereo got stolen from my Jetta MK5 2.5 Wolsfburg Edition (2007) and they cut the wires instead of unplugging the harness and the antena. I am trying to find the original harness part # since my local VW dealer is having a hard time finding the right one. Any idea what the part # is? Thanks!
Oh, they messed up the air controls as well since they probably cut some wires from the back as well…..

Tristin Molinari says:

Are you connecting a generic VW wiring harness to the aftermarket radio harness??

Tristin Molinari says:

What are you connecting the generic harness to? Where did the harness that isn't packaged come from??

Michael Frog-Man Bourne - 803 Garage says:

Great video. I would have never known about the ignition wire deal. Thanks.

christopher siguencia says:

Can u do this to a 2006 Jetta ?

Shawn Afshar says:

Edit: I redid the janky wiring with a fuse tap adapter and it works just as it did before. Which means that I didn't break anything, but I also didn't fix anything lol. Still unsure why my locks don't work right.
Original comment:
I just bought a 2008 Jetta SE and whoever set up the aftermarket radio just jammed their red wire under one of the relays. I think it might be affecting my power locks. Do you think rewiring it with one of those "Add-a-circuit Fuse TAP Adapters" would allow my locks to work more reliably?

Frank Seguinot says:

Extremely helpful! Well explained! I'm just havin problems finding the correct diameters for my 05 VW Jetta! The reason I'm trying to put another touchscreen in, is b/c the touchscreen I have right now is not allowing me to "touch" the buttons on the screen. Do you think you know why are should I just replace it?
