If you have been wondering why i never take the Tacoma off road any more this would be why. It seems like when i need it most the four wheel drive actuator sends an error message to the Tacoma’s dash which prevents it from being able to switch into four wheel drive. This problem started intermittently last year but went away, only to resurface more regularly later. My suggestion if you have this issue is to try hi easy fix first. If that doesn’t do it then replace the whole actuator. Ill show you how.

I'm stuck in 4 hi. Tried this fix. Didn't work. Any suggestions how to get it back lnto 2 wd
Hey man cool video's. How mamy hrs did that job take you? I have to do that to mine so I want to know how long it's going to take.
I'm having this issue as well . ima try this
So I have this same issue but only after I regeared to 4.88 gears. Toyota dealership tested it with a ohmmeter and they said it’s the coil in the rear diff. Dallas Offroad installed it and they’re trying to say it’s nothing they did and that it’s electronic and not their fault.
Dude Milwaukee has everything, I have an all battery powered setup for work and only use a compressor for air gun or inflating tires.
Dam get to the point
appreciate the re-install detail…helps to see it since it ISNT as simple as "to put back on, do the reverse" . i wouldnt have known to use that red stuff, etc.
Any chance you can do a video on building a Taco for Overlanding from start to finish? basically the first through 100th item you would buy and upgrade in order from all your experience thus far. I'm starting my first build, and have no idea where to start. I don't have $20k to just do it all at once.
Time to upgrade to a Tundra or a 1/2 ton pickup..
