Jerry, I don’t have a manual for the car – and I am not sure what the name
of that part is. You might be able to describe it to a Toyota dealer parts
person and they may have an expanded parts picture of the mechanism or
perhaps you could find one in a auto salvage yard. Sorry I could not help.

It helped me to remove the lock door of my corolla 2006, the handle is the
same (the door panel is different though). I had no clue how to disassemble
the handle before a saw you video. Thanks a lot.

i was able to change my driver and passenger front exterior handle without
removing the interior door panel
I figured it out… had to unscrew the door latch mechanism and slide it
over. Still had barely any room but a long bit driver or the little
ratcheting tool I had works, in case anyone needs to know. Thanks again!
One last thing, I have to replace the back door handles and I can’t access
the right-hand side star screw in the door. Do you know how to reach that
one? Thanks!

working with my matrix with about 120k miles and I had thought all hope was

Christine, I don’t think I understand what you are asking… the video
shows how to change the handle without taking the door off… but I did
take off the interior door panel.
Jeff, I’m sorry but my wife has traded in her Matrix and not having the car
to look at, I’m not sure how to access the right rear door handle star
screw.

My wife said she got them online from ROCKAUTO.COM They are listed under
Toyota/Matrix/Year/Engine Size/Body Exterior/ “Outside Door Handle”. I just
looked them up and theyare $13.14 each. Hope this helps… and best wishes
