For my 1999 Toyota Sienna Power Window motor, I used this video along with steps from car-repair.wikia.com/wiki/Toyota_Sienna. Great video!

That was a great video! Thanks! I live in the UK, but I was wondering how a ‘ window regulator ‘ worked and how to get the door panel off. You guys are awesome for posting this as I now know how to see why the motor is slow/struggling. Maybe greasing the regulator will help. Cheers aauto!

I would really appreciate a video showing how to replace the door latch cable on a 2001 Toyota Sequoia..Thank You.

EXCELLENT Video! That you for the fast forward and precise commentary. This is the best I have seen. I just ordered my window regulator from A1 Auto and now I know how to replace it.

ok..thanks very much for the help. i am treking into unknown territory. Something tells me i am going to end up with a disconnected motor, regulator and window 🙂

You can tape the window into the up position with painters tape. Yes you would need to remove the regulator with the motor.

I have a 1986 Toyota Truck 4wd SR5 and the power window motor is out on the passenger side.
are you saying that i have to undo all the bolts, release the regulator and remove it as well as the motor to replace just the motor while suspending the window ? Both th eregulator and the motor have to be taken out to replace the motor ? Thanks

Thank you for patience with my questions. I’ll try your process this weekend. Many thanks!

1aauto says:

Yes this will work (as shown in the video) for that vehicle.

Many discussion of this on the tundrasolutions dotcom site. Apparently the motor connections oxidize from prolonged period on not being used. I banged on the inside of the door with my fist against the motor area and the motor worked again. I now lower/raise it each time I gas up the car.

VARocketry says:

The DEALER implied there was something unique about the 2001 Totyota Sequoia and LandCruiser requiring their special touch for $430.

Do you know, specifically, that this process shown in your video works for the 2001 Toyota Sequoia?

1aauto says:

If you follow our video you shouldn’t have any issues with the repair. We carry new window regulators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

VARocketry says:

I just had a passenger side window glass replaced by SAFELITE on my 2001 Toyota Sequoia.

If you pull button for the window to go auto UP, it travels up and then back down to the 1/3 closed position. Safelite tech said the window “anti-pinch” sensor needed reinitialization by the DEALER as he couldn’t do it. $430 estimate from STealer!
Is this something I can do?

What’s this “reinitialization of window motor” about specifically on the 2001 Sequoia?

1aauto says:

If the vehicle has power windows, you may want to check to see if there’s power going to the window motor. You may want to check the fuses to see if any of them are blown, you could also test the wire going to the window motor with a test light to see if it has power going to it. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

It depends on the year/make/model of the vehicle, sometimes it’s easier to perform the steps needed to make the job easier in a different way.

On the video you post for replacing the window regulator on a 97-01 Camry, you initially (a) lowered the window all the way to remove the door panel, and then (b) raised it slightly to access the bolts to detach the window from the regulator, then raising and taping the window to remove the regulator. That seems easier than unbolting the regulator (as you do here) with the window attached…is there a reason why you do things differently here?

I have sequoia back window can’t open is there anyway you can show me too I greatly appreciate if you can

hlubkojxwb li says:

awesome your video is very help thank you so much. But I have another problem my sequoia back window can’t open as well is there any you can show me how to work on it too. If you can I greatly appreciate it

1aauto says:

The only way to figure out the issue would be to remove the door panel and see if the motor is operating, check the electrical connection for power when the switch is engaged, and also visually inspect the regulator for bent or damaged regulator parts.

Timetryp says:

I have a Sequoia whose front driver’s side window operates slowly – how do I determine whether it is a weak motor or binding crossmember frame? I suppose disassembly and visual inspection is the only way? How do you diagnose the motor’s strength? Thanks!

flaTundra says:

Video helped with a successful install thanks 1A- Will always be buying parts from you in the future

1aauto says:

We’ll keep this in mind while doing future repairs.
