Very helpful video. I needed to replace both interior/exterior driver’s door handles on a ’92 camry. I watched this video and went to work and was successful after an hour’s time. On my care, there is a light underneath the door arm-rest behind whch a screw for the door panel. Also, On my car, the other screw is behind the tweeter speaker. Last, I started with window down and needed to reconnect the panel to throw the switch to raise the window before I could continue work. Great video!

I have a 98 Camry with a broken inside door handle on the passenger side. This video has helped me tremendously because I didn’t have a dealer close by to replace the handle for me.

Thanks! Was a great help in me figuring out how the lock system works and how to re-attach the lock rod after it was displaced by a slim jim. The 10 mm bolts were impossible for me to remove, however, with a socket and driver. Ended up re-attaching the lock rod and clip without removing the outside door handle (now I know how performing microsurgery feels). Overall, great vid!

Thanks for this video, it really helped me figure out how to get at my door handle. I found a slight difference between my 93 Camry and the one you were working on, though, there is another screw hidden behind the door light in my model. Everything else was perfect.

My 94 Camry xle also has electric connections: switch for the dome light if you pull the handle, sm plastic tab on door handle internally to trip dome switch etc. Where can I find details to move that stuff over? I’d be fine disconnecting a switch and migrating it, like the key cylinder, but things like the little plastic tab to trip the dome light switch seem to be intrinsic to the door handle – part of the molded plastic and not attachments? Any thoughts?

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. You should able to un-bolt the access panel somehow if there are screws that hold it in place.
Hey man is there any way you could do an exterior driver handle for a 2003 avalon? i saw the panel removal for the earlier model and once off it looked like the door handle assembly was COMPLETELY blocked off from easy access with a huge chunk of metal. Before order the part and getting it painted i want to make sure i will be able to get it in there without to much hassle. Thanks for any info man, good videos!!!

I have a 1993 Camry that needs a new outside handle. I have ordered it at 1/3 the price my “car guy” said it was and am waiting for it to arrive. I am completely car stupid BUT with your awesome little videos here I think I can do it myself. Any last min tips you can think of that the video doesn’t show or tell us?
Are the steps in this video relatively the same for a 2001 Toyota Camry LE?
For those with newer Camry’s, my 2000 was in line with a similar vid entitled “2001 Toyota Camry Door Handle Replacement” posted by “Danbury210”
but do see the comments there; a few tricky bits. Mostly, you need a 10mm wrench and need to break the existing locking plastic bracket (the yellow one in this vid, and in the one linked above) to get the flanged lever arm out.
I’d watch both vids; some good pointers here too!
