Hey Scotty, I’m thinking of buying a 2018 VW GOLF with 85,000 kms, but the owner said it had a blown head gasket but fixed at a reputable mechanic with all the papers to show for it. Should I buy it? (Price is $20k AUD)
I do like your videos, but stop talking about Mexico like is their fault for the problems the vehicles have in USA.
Manufacturing parts or assembly vehicles in other countries is one thing. Design is another thing. Big Companies like the Automakers are the ones to set de quality control of the their products doesn’t matter where is made. If one product not meet the quality control in the factory, but the company in charge lets them go anyway, is the Car company the one to blame, they set the standards , (No, where is made)because they are taking the product anyway that is not meting the quantity and specifications that were in the design.
And secondly, the issues or mistakes when were designed, when something is designed, in paper is great but when functioning in the real world is totally different. Now combined those 2 factors, is a disaster. So please stop blaming Mexico or any other Country.

I was looking at a highlander and a equinox. The Highlander was $12k more same year and miles. I figure the few more repairs would still cost less than the Toyota.
I have 2 Kia vehicles (2011Sorneto & 2017 Sportage), a 2016 Toyota Corolla S, a 2004 Hyundai Sonata and they are all excellent vehicles so far! Also had a 2011 Kia Optima that was awesome which I traded in on the 2017 Sportage so my wife would have an all wheel drive with more hauling capacity!

VW can recycle 95% of a battery. This is the same company that made cheating software for diesels. I am totally skeptical.
My wife has a Hyundai Tucson and has been a good one. 197000 miles on it. With general maintenance and up keep it has been a good one. Her father had a Gen 1 Hyundai Tucson and put 250000 miles on it. And know several other people who have had great service from Hyundai and Kia. Thanks for your videos and information.

New Toyota Highlanders are built 'exclusively' in United States: Princeton, Indiana. Always check the VIN numbers for build location, new or old.
In my country 75% of vehicles on the road are toyota corollas. They are used for taxis , police cars, even limos lol.
Toyota’s just last longer , but damn to me they are ugly. Mazda, Hyundai Kia Cars are much prettier.
The 8 speed is still rough in the highlander but other than that it’s fine
