Just to bad that more and more of toyota models are no longer toyota's

Adam Turnbull says:

Well done. Ive lived and worked in Japan for 25 years. Its funny looking at the NAMES of these iconic brands. In Japan they rarely use the same name these days at home. I am not sure why. But a Lexus for almost 15 years was called the Harrier with a eagle head emblem. Only recently did they start using the term Lexus at home. That goes with a lot of brands and models. There are dozens. One other thing that helped Toyota is a government system of safety inspections. A new car gets 3 years then every 2 years after that you need to go in for these inspections which at the start might be only filters etc but still cost as much as 700$. Pronounced Sha-ken. Shaken pushed people to buy a new car sooner because as the car got older the shaken became more and more expensive as parts wore out. This wasn't a subsidy but it did benefit car producers here. I've had a few cars here and never had a serious mechanical problem with ANY brand. So quality is very high here.

WhiteNight says:

Some number of years ago, I bought a brand new toyota. It came with 3-year 36K mile warranty. Certain parts had 5-year warranty. As soon as the warranty expired, it started to break down. The parts that had 3-year warranty broke down in the exact month when the warranty expired. Similarly for the other parts that had 5-year warranty. After that, I swore that I would never buy another Toyota in my life. I also tell my experience to everyone I know at every chance I get.

Mike Viola says:

Everyone knows china has been ripping off north American technology for a verry long time.
