I have a 2009 corolla s. looking to get 8000k hids. It’s a low beam I need right?

lTehShyGuyl says:

my 2012 corolla’s daytime running lights are also the highbeams, so is there an alternative kit i can get?

Hey iv got a 1999 toyota corolla hatchback…Im just wondering if anyone knows the type of kit i would need to get?

vmipsychmajor says:

Thanks for posting!

I’d love to get HID’s (I drive to/from work in the dark most of the year), but one of my concerns has been extra glare for other drivers. How much extra “spillover” did you notice that was outside the intended beam pattern? It didn’t seem like a lot in the garage at 6:15, but I wanted to check before buying.

Again, thanks!

Thomas Levens says:

i have a 2009 toyota corolla xle. would it be best to get the low beams or high beams? and also can i combine HIDs with LED headlights? like have LED DRLs and HID high/low beams?

XenonSupply says:

The 2009 Model uses the High Beam as the DRL light. You should be able to follow the link in the product description directly to review and purchase the correct kit

jtjoser says:

Hey guys I need help on a 2009 Corolla, I need to know which is the bulb that runs the Daytime Running Lights, is the low beam or the high beam bulb. I’m going to buy a low beam HID kit for my friends car as a gift but dont want to make it obvious by asking them. Thanks a lot!

XenonSupply says:

Can you clarify? Your headlight switch has an auto setting as well as manual on and off. What is the year model of your Toyota Corolla?

Chapino4eva says:

Hi, how would you take out the automatic sensor when the headlights turn on?

XenonSupply says:

If you are retrofitting your headlights you will likely need the D2R conversion kit. I would recommend you email us at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com to make sure you get the right parts for your conversion.

Thanks,

immortal4942 says:

hi im retrofiting d2r bulbs in my h4 housing for my corolla. my question is should i buy a d2r kit or h4 kit? the female headlight connectors for the bulbs are still H4, but the bulb is D2R.

XenonSupply says:

If your Toyota Corolla runs the Daytime running light off the low beam then you will require an accessory wiring harness and an anti flicker capacitor wires in line to prevent the HIDs from flickering during the day. The 2009 Corolla (US Spec) uses the high beam for the DRLs and does not require these additional items. If your 2010 is a Canadian Spec model, or uses the low beam as the DRL then yes you will require the special items. Call us at 1-800-840-3240 for additional details.

i have an 06 corolla xrs. because of the drl, do i purchase 1 relay harness (to be specific:12v, 40A fuse:30a) & 1 capacitor?

XenonSupply says:

Headlight adjustment is located on the headlight housing itself. Refer to your owners manual for the correct tool and location to adjust low beam light level.

Chigaaazzz says:

is the level adjustment located on the ballast? or is it on the headlights?

XenonSupply says:

@toyota4life94 Please contact us at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com or give our technical support department a call at 612.234.7640 if you have additional questions.

thank you.

XenonSupply says:

@toyota4life94 The XenonSupply Premium ballast is waterproof with an epoxy filled interior casing. The XenonSupply standard ballast is water resistant. Premium kits are warranted for 5 years and the standards for 3. If you have additional questions please let us know at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com

XenonSupply says:

Headlight adjustment can be performed on every vehicle. Use your Vehicle User manual to find the location and method of adjustment for your specific year make and model.

LIN DEREK says:

do u have adjustment it for corlla only or for all the cars?

XenonSupply says:

The Installation tutorial is compatible with the Corolla S and uses the same 9006 bulb type. The adjustment of the headlight is a recommended step to ensure proper installation of the kit.

LIN DEREK says:

but do u really need to adjust the light bulbs? and what is the bulb size, also is this tutorial for corlla s ?

XenonSupply says:

If by black box you mean the ballast yes, they can be secured to the wiring bundles that wrong along the frame of the chassis. You can also machine bolt them, or also double sided sticky tape them to the chassis.

If you have additional questions just let us know at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com

LIN DEREK says:

for the box did u just tie them to those black long tubes? and do u really need to adjust the bulbs? or u dont need to

XenonSupply says:

Please send us an email at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com and we will be able to link you to both the low beam and fog light kits for the Toyota Corolla.

Thank you,

Jason Ricci says:

I REALLY want to install this kit on my ’09 Corolla S, but what about the high beams? I did disable my DRL’s, so I don’t need to worry about them being on during the day. And what about the fog lights, is there a kit for them as well. This video is excellent by the way. An “everyman” should be able to perform this install themselves.

XenonSupply says:

This installation does not require a relay. If you do purchase a relay for the added safety, then yes, it will need to be connected to the positive terminal of the batter, and the ground will lead to the chassis, not the neg terminal of the battery.

XenonSupply says:

You can to create more space but it seems fine for us without removing.

moose1328 says:

Nice video. But, don’t you need to connect live wires to the positive and negative terminals to the ballasts for the relay ?

XenonSupply says:

Install uses a Stock reflector housing.

the 06 is slightly different because the DRL runs off the low beam.
The DRL can be turned off through a variety of methods. Please email us at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)com for the instructions.

If you prefer not to disable the DRL, you can use a relay and capacitor from XenonSupply wired in a specific way to get the HID’s working in conjunction with the DRL signal.

Hope that helps,

-Phil and XS Team

BattousaiNaruto says:

Three Questions:
Is the install in this video using the stock reflector housing?
Is it the same process for an 06 Corolla?
For DRL would it be a canceler or a wire relay that would solve that problem?

Thanks

XenonSupply says:

I believe the 2008 Corolla has issues with the daytime running light. You will need to disable the DRL assembly or you will have flickering issues. You can email us at Help(at)XenonSupply(dot)Com for additional info.

lockyjose says:

will the same process work for a 08 corolla

XenonSupply says:

I Belive this is the Standard 9006 kit available online at XenonSupply(dot)com

XenonSupply says:

Hi, is this a XenonSupply kit? what is youre vehicle year model? If its an older Corolla you will need to disable the DRL. Also, different HID kits from other suppliers are not the same as XenonSupply so support is quite limited with what we can recommenend as troubleshooting steps.

XenonSupply says:

its best to only install a conversion kit on the low beams. The high beam is also the daytime running light and can cause some flickering issues that are difficult to deal with. the 9006 kit is available online at XenonSupply(dot)com

What kit are you installing? Standard, Upgrade, or Premium?
