ABS Control Module Replacement 2007-2009 Toyota Camry (How to)

An ABS control module replacement is an easy DIY fix. I show you how to repair a bad ABS control module on a 2007 Toyota Camry. The anti-lock braking system control module replacement should also be relevant for the 2008 and 2009 Toyota Camry as well.

Hey I can't disconnect the cable after lifting up the lever of My 2007 Toyota Sequoia. I saw you pulled it out very easily. May be mine is stuck or I'm missing something. Can you explain the removal of the cable please.
Thanks

Thanks for this video, I have an 05 Toyota Avalon. Yesterday similar problem as yours abs light on, brake light on, temperature gauge dead, and a.c.not blowing cold air. I disconnected battery for about 5 minutes, connected battery back, turned car on and everything runned okay for a few minutes but then back with same problem. Do you think the problem is the abs module? Thanks

Have a 2001 solara convertible and the abs light just came on and the traction light is flashing. Would replacing this module fix this possibly. As I was sitting in the car and it felt like something was running with the key off, which could be this module, correct???

Great video and info! My 07 Camry XLE V6 did the same thing, schizo dash and no cold air. Found a used ABS module at a local junk yard for $100. Works perfectly. My fifth digit VIN is K, the junked car it came off was E, a 2009 model. But both are WITHOUT traction control, which is the only way it will work.

I went to The dealership. They asked 1700 to replace the abs module. But i can't believe that.

Having this same issue with my 07 Camry Hybrid with VSC. Do you think this might work? Cause I loathe going to the dealer for ANY non-covered repair.

Consquilla Morris says:

Was the module with are without traction?

Azeem Syed says:

General FYI: I had the same issue with an 07 Camry. In the process of taking out the old one I found a lot of dust/debris in there. Blew compressed air throughout it and plugged it back in and everything was back to normal again. Maybe worth a shot for some of you who are looking for solutions. Didnt have to dish out money for a new part.

Azeem Syed says:

Hmm…I have something similar but I dont have an abs/brake light illuminated. FWIW, tach works well too. Speedo doesnt move. All the other gauges work fine. No CEL, brake or other warning lights. Suggestions? This is an 07 4cy and does have ABS FWIW.

Jen Shane says:

I'm having the exact same problem on my 2009 Toyota Camry SE (It has 123k miles). I was also quoted nearly $3k by the Dealership! They wanted to replace the entire pump. I want to try just cleaning module first, if that doesn't work i'll buy a refurbished module! I was getting error code U0073. My 5th VIN letter is "E" and I thought every "newer" car has traction control? I'm not sure what ABS module to order? Traction control, no traction control? Dealership wouldn't tell me which part it was.. of course. He looked at me like I was stupid when I asked about the traction control thing. Please help! I don't want to order the wrong part.
