Power steering pump bolts are a pain took me hours

Kevin says:

I believe you have dirty throttle body and computer has to relearn idle position after losing its battery backed memory. I have 05 Aerio. Please show your alternator rebuild. Cheers

I attempted to remove it but yes the power steering pump bolts is what made me give up. My question is what kind of wrench did u use to get that last bolt out.

Thanks for the videos. They help me a ton. I'm contemplating doing this one myself too. I have all the tools and I'm pretty competent. But if it took YOU 4 hours, it would take ME about 8. LOL

You are a god send I’ve been looking for over six months for a video on how to do this gave up on it tbh. Looked today and found this video. Thank you so much.

I like to fix cars says:

How did you know it in the starter and where is the starter located on the vehicle?

0YouCanCallMeAl0 says:

God what an awful design. It almost looks like they initially forgot to put the alternator in and later though "hmm where can we jam it in?"

Russell Stuart says:

I am currently doing this and you are right the longest time is to get the power steering bolts out, however if you have the correct length of socket then the poer steering bolts are a lot less difficult to remove. Still nee to remove the bottom bolts of the alternator they are proving a little tight. Your videos are great thank you so much.

TheGibby3340 says:

There is no need to remove the P/S pump (or engine mount bolt). When the upper bolt is to be removed, simply loosen the 12mm bolt and allow the alternator to move inboard. The bolt remains in situ to deal with the clearance issue with the P/S pump pulley. It's tricky access and requires patience. No disrespect intended your video remains well done!

Steven Gibson says:

Thanks for posting. As you likely know, the factory manual instructs you to remove the intake manifold. Think I prefer your approach. Thanks again.
