DON'T use the thrust washer.
Why is your dial indicator sitting on a ring gear bolt? It should be on the ring gear teeth sitting perpendicular to them. Im only watched this because im searching for the elusive carrier side bearing clearance or pre-load or however its done. No movement is the closest thing ive gotten to a spec.
